I love that personal touch that Blunt puts on packages from time to time... My wife has become numb to ummm "packages" with pictures of "packages" showing up on the front walk.

Around here they will do oil recycling along with regular recycling along with garbage pickup. They supply the container, 6Qt, barely enough for a M30 and not enough for a M52, which they also recycle on an exchange basis. Meaning they dump them and sometimes give you one back without you having to call the garbage company.
At any rate, the dregs that are in those things. Looks like half of them must have blown head gaskets, it's often I see milkshake or just a loose slurry of oil and water in the quarter inch left on the bottom. Are they the only ones changing oil at home anymore or do I just get the ugly ones.

I got busted stealing Splenda from the GM's coffee room this morning. The worst part is that I was wearing shorts. I'm allowed to but the GM hates it so we try not to remind her that she would like to take away that privilege.
So I'm out in the middle of nowhere babysitting a contractor who is doing corrosion testing. I have no idea why I'm here, are they afraid he's going to steal a tumbleweed or something?
I was riding my shopping cart down the ramp at Costco last week and got called that by a complete stranger.oldskool wrote: Now wife is calling me immature. Wha wha whaaat?

We're having a potluck at work today. I made a pan of brownies last night, then completely spaced out when I left this morning and forgot them on the counter at home. Yvonne to the rescue though; she even frosted them for me. Yeah, I'm pretty spoiled.
Stealing Splenda? Maybe your double-infraction has something to do with your assignment today.Karl Grau wrote:I got busted stealing Splenda from the GM's coffee room this morning. That's the beauty of having kids; when they're little you can do stuff like that and nobody bats an eye. But... when the kid is 14 and almost as tall/big as me, not so much. Caleb and I found out that Sam's Club management has a problem with shopping cart races in the aisles. What a bunch of killjoys.Karl Grau wrote:I was riding my shopping cart down the ramp at Costco last week and got called that by a complete stranger.oldskool wrote: Now wife is calling me immature. Went yarding with PK this morning. Found a spoiler for the ti, $25, and a cap for the windshield washer filler, no charge.
After no luck finding a decent E36 steering wheel, PK is looking into swapping an E46 steering wheel and getting the wheel controls to work. (Apparently works with an E38 slip ring.)

The red 944 over on Cars FS here got me thinking yesterday about the one red 944 I see around my area. Saw the same said local 944 this morning, when it pulled into a parking lot behind a roofing job where we are working. The driver parked, pulled out his camera, and took a few pictures from his driver's seat. WTH? OSHA have new cars? And what a small world I live in ....
an Old VH video that I hadn't seen before....

Have you seen Junior's grades??
Been helping the daughter with a project the last couple of days; building a wood table for her kitchen. Today she asks if it was me who told her when she was little that sprinkling sawdust on the ground would make weeds grow... Nope, not me, but I remember her asking that before. I also remember her picking up handfuls of sawdust when she was little and spreading it in the lawn. When asked what she was doing back then, the answer was always the same; "Nothiiiiinnnngggg..."
Today she admited that she would do that when she was mad at me about something, trying to make weeds grow in the lawn.

Spent the last two days setting up a 1960s French lathe at my shop. It was local and the price was right so I went against all of my engineering instincts and training and got this thing.
It is an intriguing piece of shit. No manual with it but that doesn't matter since I couldn't read it anyway. To an engineer and historian of technology this is a prototypical French adaptation of someone else's invention. It solves some common lathe problems in a cute yet unreliable way. Citroen transmission in the headstock. Only in France would an engineer think that having a belt CVT drive is a good idea.
It has only 12 spindle speeds but the CVT is on the power feed so you get infinitely variable power feed. The answer to an unasked question.
It is usable now that I made my own A1-4 backplate and ground a buckchuck for it. It's slowly giving up its secrets. Like a good Frenchman it will eventually surrender them all.

It's quite possible I've "gone soft" when an episode of Castle makes me go all bleary eyed. Seriously, what is this stuff coming from my eyes? Surely, it can't be some sort of emotion, can it?

I am on a wild ride lately when it comes to finding something interesting for dinner. I have grown bored, and nothing good ever comes from that . . .until now. I found an interesting recipe at http://www.tarladalal.com called "dal makhani". Just have to add some BEEF to make things really happen because I don't think they have a lot of cows in India.
Monday: just finished making dinner plates for kidlets; taking them to the table, and i bash my right pinky toe on one of the chairs. It hurt so bad, i didn't want to look for fear it would be perpendicular to its' intended position. It wasn't perpendicular, but tuesay morning, purple and swollen. Limped all day.
Score: 1 broken toe
Today: reading in bed while kid is taking nap. Mom took older kid to mall. Get up to pee, bash my LEFT pinky toe on the door jamb of the toilet closet. AHHHHHHH! My first thought: "you're effing kidding me, right?!?"
Score: TWO broken toes in one week!

I was sympathetic up to this point, Two? I would wear sneakers 24/7 and maybe adjust my meds. 6 weeks, good as new . Did the nails get involved. . I stubbed toes plenty when small, Then I practiced walking a 2x4 on edge between the garage and the chicken house about 10 feet across and 7 feet in the air, It was the top rail of a fence. I havent done much with it the last 30 yrs , But I was pretty damn agile at one time.ldsbeaker wrote:Monday: just finished making dinner plates for kidlets; taking them to the table, and i bash my right pinky toe on one of the chairs. Ran a used 370Z out of gas today on a "spirited" test drive after leaving a few donuts on a backroad. Fuel gauge said 15 mi when it decided I was done! Although several miles away from the nearest gas station, as the clock approached 5, I knew there was a local garage within 200 yds of me. Denny, the owner, was very kind in taking me to retreive some fuel and get back on my way. I thank the Lord for kind, understanding...car people!
