Bad experience with a seller named Ivo Christov from http://www.E28.nl. He also goes by ovide_nl on ebay. Do not know what his user name is here but assume he is a member.

I think everybody here knows me and my name, however I still didn’t get yours, in your emails you never had the decency to put your name in, weird…..(and not even on this tread…wow)
You never asked for my name and I never asked for yours. Your name is listed in the listing
I bought something from him on ebay and he said he had some other parts for sale.

My exact words to your question were:
>Just bought this dead pedal from you. What other alpina parts do you have?
<Not much, besides wheels and an instrument cluster

I agree that is exactly what you said

I keep asking him for a week for pictures and a price and I get replies that he will take the pictures tomorrow.

No you didn’t, you wrote:
>Do you have the cluster listed anywhere? Might be interested in it.
<Not yet, can make pics tomorrow

That is what I said Oct-10-16 "Do you have the cluster listed anywhere? Might be interested in it."
You said Oct-10-16 Not yet, can make pics tomorrow
The 12th I said "Send me some pictures and a price. I might still be interested."
The 12th you said "sorry but I now realize the cluster is E28..."
The 17th I said "Send me some pictures and a price. I might still be interested."
The 17th you said "Let me know if you received the pictures Met vriendelijke groet, With kind regards, Ivo Christov http://www.E28.nl (you did include you name as talked about above)
The 18th I said "did not receive the pictures or the price. Still waiting so we can wrap up our dealings."
The 18th I said "I found the pictures you sent. Ebay did not notify me of them. What is the price?" (The pictures came in the 17th but ebay did not noticie me so I did not know I received them the 17th.)

He never sends me a price after being asked about 4 times in a week.

No you didn’t, please don’t lie and abuse this board about things that aren’t true…..
You only asked once a second time, after that I replied.
<sorry but I now realize the cluster is E28....
>Send me some pictures and a price. I might still be interested.

[/color]
The 12th "Send me some pictures and a price. I might still be interested."
The 17th "Send me some pictures and a price. I might still be interested."
The 18th "did not receive the pictures or the price. Still waiting so we can wrap up our dealings."
Then the 18th "I found the pictures you sent. Ebay did not notify me of them. What is the price?"

That is 4 time in 6 days for the price. (I don't like being called a lier)

After a week finally get some pictures this morning.
He turns right around and opens a none payment case on me.

That was eBay, not me. I have the automatic unpaid assistant on.

Received that response after I posted to this board 'Sorry about that but that is an automatically setting caused by eBay I didn't do that.
"

I still have not gotten a price on the other part and I keep telling him send me a price so we can complete our deals. He lives in the Netherlands so I want to ship everything together.

I wouldn’t have shipped the part if you had paid, knowing that we were still discussing other parts. This is how a professional seller works
I did get a price of 995USD later on that day.

Not happy with him at all and I would not recommend doing business with him.
Fair enough, I wasn’t too quick with posting pictures of the rare Alpina cluster, so point taken here.
I apologize for that.

At the time of posting nothing had be resolved. Had an unpaid case, no pictures, no price, nothing.

update:
He claims the unpaid case was automatic from eBay. May have been or may not have been, don't know.
I can prove it, but I don’t see the point.
Posted an update so people knew conversation was still open and that you said it was automatic by ebay and that I can't speak to the validity of that as I don't have a clue what Ebay's policy might be.

I did get a price which I thought was high and went ahead and paid for what I had bought to take care of the unpaid case. I just don't like being forced to pay in the middle of dealing with someone.

You could have just asked again….I would have answered you politely
Nobody was forcing anyone
I am not sure what you are saying here about asking again. I was referring to the unpaid case forcing me to pay. Not that I did not get a final answer to my request for pictures and a price.

It would be like going to the store and having to pay at the end of every shopping aisle and not when you are finished shopping.

Dude, it’s not a store, it’s eBay.
Everything that is in my eBay store is ready to put in your shopping cart and pay for at the end of the aisle.
I was talking about the cluster you did not have listed. I tried and tried to get an answer to the price and get some pictures. If it was listed it would have been a simple decision on if I wanted to buy it or not as all the information would be readily known.

Again, I’m sorry if I didn’t meet your expectations of digging out a rare item that was not listed on eBay when you did your purchase.
I do have 2 jobs, a house, a dog, a wife and a life to take care of as well…..

I would have not thought much about it if an unpaid case did not get opened on me. I know we are all busy and we all have better things to do than dig out parts that someone may or may not buy.

I would say the take away from this is nothing about it is relates to the product purchased. It is a simple cause and effect. The unpaid case getting opened caused an effect of immediate action being taken to conclude the transaction in a rapid manor. The buyer received what he purchased. The seller received payment. Communication was never lost. The unpaid case is what caused the problem in this transaction.

May be an inopportune time to post this given the shitstorm above this, but I thought the other day that I never properly thanked Ivo for going above and beyond to get me the black BMW corduroy cloth for my E12 M535i seats. I thought this stuff was NLA ever since I bought the car in 2003 but recently found out that it was in fact available. It's a perfect, OEM part # match for my car's very rare E12 M535i specific Recaros.

Anyway, due to idiotic BMW NA euro parts ordering red tape, Ivo (with Chris Kohler's help) got me 8 meters of the stuff. I won't go into how we did the transaction on the public forum, but Ivo really went above and beyond for me. Chris was his usual enthusiastic and helpful self and I couldn't have done this without the two of them.

The results are outstanding as I posted here:

Based on e28 member recommendations I've purchased new euro lights, grill, and M5 spoiler from Ivo Christov over the last 18 months. Each order has arrived without damage, delivered in a timely manner, and been in the condition he claimed they would be in. I will continue to do business with him.

Post by legionnaire1856 »

Resop hasn't made many posts on this forum, but he is somewhat active on other forums, r3vlimited and maybe a couple others. He was doing a 535is part out and I was in a tight spot needing the sport seats. I was too far away to make the drive so I asked him to ship. He took my offer for price and he bolted them to a pallet and sent them freight to the place I needed them to go. I paid him up front for this and he delivered. Seats were as advertised. I would definitely do business with him again, he shipped a PITA part that most people wouldn't have bothered with.

i just wanted to update this by saying yes I did finallly receive the pistons, but almost two months after paying for them. How much was sloth, and how much was shipping time, I dunno.

Seller was enthusiaste24 - I Bought an M Tech spoiler, I am VERY happy with condition. Awesome seller. Advertised as mint condition, rubber pliable etc. It was 100% accurate. Packaged very good considering it had to travel from Canada to Oklahoma. Good communication and quick shipping. Would not hesitate to purchase from seller again.

I'd like to advise you all against dealing with Vines Automotive. David responds quickly with a quote, but if there is a shipping error, he will not respond to e-mails or phone calls. I have filed with BBB and posted on RipoffReport. Evidently, my experience is not unique.

Just wanted to report a great experience with Mateja in New Zealand (M M on the forum). When I needed a seat base unique to RHD cars and he didn't have one, he managed to locate one for me and gave a great price on it. On top of that, the package arrived at my door here in the US much more quickly than some domestic purchases I have made! He was very helpful and communicative and I would happily do business with him again.

e30s50 in eastern Washington (really it's western since he's west of the Cascades) tried to get out of refunding me for shipping an instrument cluster that cracked during transit due to him not shipping with any padding or insurance. Luckily I paid the PayPal 3% and they ruled in my favor. But he started to ignore me after it became clear that he was at fault. If you order from him, insist on insurance and for him to protect it properly, and also protect yourself with PayPal.

I just purchased an euro front valance from "duff" also known as Dāvis Jaudzems. I must say that I am extremely disappointed in the transaction. It arrived in a timely manner and I was not in a rush to get the part. Nevertheless, upon opening it I noticed some decently sized dents on the top of the valance. Whether it happened during shipping or it was already like this and he didn't catch it I am not sure. I have emailed back and forth with "duff" sending pictures and asking for a partial refund and fixing it or sending me another new one. "duff" replied to my 4 or 5 emails with one response saying that the damage won't be visible by the the outside of the car and you can just "beat it from the inside to fix it". For the guys running the euro front ends please go look at your car and tell me you can actually see this spot in between the headlamps and chrome bumper. Regardless if you can see it or not, it's a brand new part and I expect it to be dentless.

I work in the collision repair industry and if anyone else here does or knows anything about it "beating" it out will not fix it or make it look like anything.

Since my disappointment with duff and the unresponsiveness I have opened up a claim on paypal to resolve the issue for a partial refund. We will see what happens.
