We swapped the motor in that thing twice.
The body lasted, but the motors didn't.

I think it's a Hyundai Excel, their first US offering. I heard they didn't last too long, but were a cheap new car.

Btw, got a call today to participate in a defensive driving clinic next monday, free of charge. Chuckwalla. All I have to do is show up. Sometimes it's REALLY great being a Marine.

So, the instructions I got were to be here at 2100 before the gate locks and I'm stuck. No services within 50 miles.
135ish miles and I leave town at 1850. Several church commitments that of course ran long.
2 checkpoints, one gas and snack stop, and a closed road. I swear, I bent time to get here. I rolled up just as the guy was locking the gate. He let me in, signed me in and took me to the paddock. I am bunked up 50 feet from the track. (AC'd camper, woot!)
Plan to be up at 0500 to run the track (2.68 hilly miles) then class starts at 0700. Yeehaw.

I've been looking around for a new stimulating method of exercise, and I found this product online. I swear I have seen, or done, this exercise before, but I can't specifically recall where. It was a hot day at the self-serve yard today. While scouting around looking for the e36s they had scattered around, I bumped into another guy several times who made me feel a bit underdressed. He was wearing a tie, button-down shirt, vest, dress slacks, and some funky pointy-toed shoes. Looked like he was headed for the disco.

I was tempted to take a photo, but thought that might be a bit rude.

Actually went to the doc on this one, he ordered x-rays and the tech said if, "if you don't hear from him in a day or two, call him"

I didn't take the pics, these pics were taken by passing motorist on smart phones and sent in to our local TV Station.

I was on the phone while this was happening, saw it come up on TV and then looked out the front door and said "Holy, SH*T!!!...

It started as a water spout, which we have had a few this week then came ashore as a funnel cloud. Luckily, it really never touched ground, just ran about 2.5 miles inland as you see it in the pics.

So this day started out much like most, except for that dickhead egret flew over me in the dark at 6am and squawked 10 feet above my head. Why me? That Bastard. I still don't know what to make of that, but it scared me nutless, and I got into the car realizing that it will probably never happen ever, ever again. I drove off into the sunrise, naked in soul, ready for what the day held, armed knowing that I've already been squawked at.
Fast forward through the festive day of a cold-calling vacuum cleaner salesman, I get home and finally find a moment out in the garage to return a call to a real live V.I.P. (voracious iguana petter). Just as I begin to chew his ear, my wife decides that backing out of the garage with the garage door half open was a good idea. It wasn't. I guess the sun was in her eyes. Maybe that's why I had the door half closed? The sun was in MY EYEs! She's blond.
There are dents in the Landbruiser, my garage door won't close. I'm pissed 'cause it looks like a pumpkin.
It's cool, I guess. We can fix it. My old man is a TV repairman and he has an awesome set of tools.
