RTT Update!

Last year we had some stickers made up for RTT participants. Most placed their stickers on the back windows which made it easy to identify an RTT car (especially in traffic).

Here's the mock-up for this year's sticker. The design is fashioned after classic/vintage racing numbers.






A big thanks to B7 Turbo who is looking after the final design and production of the stickers.

And now, how about some emoticons................LOL!

This thread keeps locking up my phone with emoticons!!! Stop the madness!!!

Hmmm, I might need a Garmin tutorial for that. Last year I missed most of the twisties on day 1 because I got separated from the group leaving the Hawthorne Inn parking lot. But I'm looking forward to RTT12!

Good schtufff happening this year at RTT. The annual RTT cubre Libre party will be held friday night at the Hawthorne in the RTT suite and then later we will move to the parking lot.
Dont want to drink and drive.. Dont worry the RTT crew has you covered. We will be providing some good eats in the parking lot for those who want to avoid the risk of driving after pounding a few drinks... Stay tuned, but those who know us know we can get the food going!!!! Just look for our little banner and come on by for some good old fashioned fellowship..
Day one of RTT will be a great time. For those who have never been to Tazwell WV I strongly suggest taking the drive with us. The RTT crew has done it again. The local Tazwell Fire and Rescue will be providing an exclusive barbeque for the rtt group.. We will begin the barbeque at the Thompson valley market at 1:00. The drive to Tazwell is known as the Back of the Dragon and the RTT cars made a real impact last year... So much so that the town is inviting us back!!! So even if your not gonna do the RTT drive you might consider heading to Tazwell on Sunday and gobble up a few hundred turns along with your barbeque
I think this year will be epic..

I would like to emphasize Adrian's post.... A lot of planning and negotiation has gone into this... The Cuba Libre party is probably on us again this year (feel free to chip in coke or limes or rum), bring cash for the food...

Here's a pic of the Thompson Valley Market in Tazwell. And, for an added bonus, you can buy a pack of Taho smokes for 3 bucks.

Day one Route passes right on by. The Thompson Valley Market is actually in Tazewell, VA* just after (or is it before?) some of the best countryside running roads in America. Cannot wait. Still can't wait for Cuba Libre Friday.

T-15 days to hitting the road for RTT '12 and its little appetizer down in W-S.






* We don't need any pedants correcting the Canadian or the Floridian.

Can it get any better?

Reservations in place for Bristol and the Mardis Gras. Gotta see if my lovely bride will let me continue after that.

Man this S50 powered touring is a lot of fun. Cannot wait to RTT.

This will be our first trip!

I'm starting to get excited. Heinz runs fine now but there are still a few things to do.

Mandatory:
1. Replace in tank pump gaskets including the sending unit's gasket.
2. Change oil.
3. Replace left headlight.
4. Serious wash.

Optional:
1. Paint grilles trim black.
2. Glue driver's side b-pillar trim.

My list is totally reasonable. What's your list?

1st up is the leaking tensioner replacement
- should have the S50/52 tensioner in hand tomorrow, and in car by Sunday PM (Thanks Jim).
The rest;
- get that ant-lock brake light to go out and get the tape off my cluster, probably the bomb
- swap in 3:46
- solve front end creak issue
- oil change, etc...
Oh yeah, current state inspection sticker.

Some have tried but as I recall there was a plane ticket involved once...hahaha... Im not sure if it is the pace or the evening frivolities. I think we should come up with an award for the first spouse who makes the whole tour.

If any spouse is willing to do it Alison is the one- she's pretty cool!

1. Check the fluids in the M5
2. Lubricate the S38 throttle linkage
3. Program the Garmin
4. Hook up the CB radio and test function with truckers on I-495
5. Buy cigars, simple syrup, limes and mint for the Cuba Libre Party
6. Save money for $4.25+ premium 93 octane fuel

I know mine wouldn't do it.
She barely lasted through one day of Tex-Fest this past year, and that was the last day and she really didn't have a choice.
We did start speaking again the next day though.
