Pulled my 6 month old Bosch Silver plugs and made sure they were gapped correctly.
Replaced plug wires with the Beru variety.
Replaced intake bellows with a nearly-new one.
Preventatively, shot some DeOxit into all the plug wire connections (and coil wire, ICV, AFM, TPS connections) before re-connecting them.

I thought fondly of it. Sitting forlorn and alone in the dark garage with just a battery tender for company.

Passed another California smog ck. This time with my aftermarket ECU... Glad it's over. Celebrated with a car wash and vacuum. For some reason the engine runs smoother when the car is clean..., weird

Heading to shop in the A.M. to complete 5-speed swap....thought about taking pics, but said "screw it" and just got to work. Spent day one, Friday, ripping donor car apart, pulling 5-speed trans, pedals, etc. and prepping my car for swap (drained trans, removed cooler lines, etc). Day two, today (Saturday) I pulled my auto tragic, interior bits and auto shifter. Installed clutch, rebuilt 5-speed shifter with z3 short throw lever and new bushings and mounted sheet metal shifter mount. 5 mile run in the early Sunday A.M. and then back to shop to finish. Well almost; I will have to weld up exhaust Monday and tidy up a bit. It will be worth it. Only working about 8 hours a day and having to tear apart donor made it a longer project.

Drove it, and became quickly dismayed when the thing started idling at around 1500rpm. I thought I had that idle thing licked.
