I'm not sure what's causing the issue. Like I said before, make sure you thoroughly clean your window with glass cleaner, and apply the decal with a bondo spreader / credit card to assure it's applied evenly.
Most aren't having problems, when you consider there are around 600 out there. But a hand full is enough reason to look into it.

Let me say publicly, THANKS for your stand-up response.
In my case,
I'm positive the windscreen was clean and I did apply with adequate pressure.
It appears the vinyl just deteriorated, possibly due to UV exposure, as my car sat outside uncovered all winter.
Remember I'm in the upper coastal region of south Texas, so winters here are like Daytona Beach, FL winters,
, mostly warm and sunny.

I'd like to keep you guys updated on this. I've been speaking with the vendor and we're attempting to work towards upping the quality of the vinyl being used.
I'm sending them over some samples of a thicker more flexible vinyl that I'd prefer and they're going to see if they can source it and if the printing oils they're currently using will take to it.
Their oils are the highest quality I've found in my search - you can see it in the BMW logo. It's actually a bit raised and has some metallic to the silver. Hopefully we can keep the quality of the printing up while increasing the quality of the vinyl.
In my search for a vendor I found that the ones who used a higher quality vinyl were not able to come close to the printing quality from the current vender. It looked like they ran it through an old desktop inkjet. I don't know much about applying the oils to certain vinyls but we're getting there.
I still have yet to figure out the problem. One thing I did notice is that the only issues are coming with the 12" decals placed on the rear windshield. Since the 1/4 glass and rear glass decals are produced exactly the same, this leads me to believe that maybe the rear defroster lines are the issue. Possibly drying them out and causing them to crack. I'll be looking into it more thoroughly.
At the LEAST I'll have another identical batch made to replace any deteriorating decals. I'm aiming for a better resolution though.

No rear defroster used here.

Mine are placed below the bottom defrost line. I don't see why it would be an issue. (not to mention all of my other vinlys are fine, placed over the line in places)

Gentlemen, how many of you are using (or ever have used) RainX® on your windows? It leaves a silicone coating on there to which almost
nothing will stick for long - and it's damn near impossible to get off by normal human means. If you want to try, I'd hit it with literally every solvent I can find. Start with alcohols; use some acetone (
VERY carefully and on the GLASS ONLY because it
will strip your paint!); maybe some mineral spirits and lacquer thinner. Revisit the alcohols to get the organic solvents off, then finish with ammoniated spray window cleaner (like Windex®). After that, you
might have it fairly clean.
As one of the early orderers who hasn't yet applied mine, I suppose there's no way in hell they will survive for long ...

That's a very good observation. I wasn't aware the Rain-X stuff was so indestructible. This could very well cause an issue with the adhesive.

I've applied no Rain-X, previous owners, maybe.
But never know it by the way the water sheds.
I'll do a super duper clean though prior to re-attaching.
Thanks for the process C.R.

man, I can't say I'm not as happy as I thought I would be in these. I was expecting raised lettering so you didn't have the back sticker finish, but that's okay that isn't the part that bugged me.
This is what made me unhappy. Even after cleaning, applying windex first underneath the sticker then to squeegee out per the method(same as applying tint) this is what my end result was.
Blame user error if you want, but i've had little error putting on any other sticker with a clear background. If you come out with a batch that is raised lettering let me know.

I'll pile on here...I took the pic below about 30 min ago. It's a GREAT decal and at the end of the day it's for a good cause but the quality just isnt there. The "e" is flaking off and you can see where the decal is cracked. I went to a state school for college so I'm not that smart but even my state school brain can figure out how to put a sticker on. Just sucks...I LOVE the idea and message.

Um, guys, I'm pretty sure the top sheet is
a transfer sheet, not part of the applique. It's only used to keep the letters aligned. You're supposed to peel it off, leaving the letters stuck to the surface.

I wondered about that but there was no "give" when you put the sticker on
I have another I'll throw on tomorrow and give it a whirl

trust me, that's what I thought. There isn't a raise to the lettering and no matter how much I tried, there wasn't any way that lettering would come off. Also judging from closer looks at the sticker on the for sale page, the clear back piece is supposed to be there. Oh well

ahhh gotta love a day off. I got up, detailed the car and put my spare sticker on. So far so good with the transfer sheet removed...stupid state school education.

Ok, sorry for being dormant lately.
EXTERIOR DECALS - have a clear transfer sheet to be removed.
INTERIOR DECALS - are printed on clear vinyl and are not die-cut.
...just to clarify.
UPDATE ON EXTERIOR DECAL QUALITY
I've been having a back and forth with the supplier about this flaking off issue. We're looking into a possible issue with the ink/vinyl combination as the cause of the problem.
They will be sending me some new samples to test out. I'll keep you guys updated.

That's good. I put a new one on you sent me again and again they flake. But it is ok I do not expect a new one free- as this costs you money. I'll wait on some interior ones.

Can't use the interior ones I got as replacements, all our old rides have tinted windows.
I'll be glad to be the guinea pig for the new external ones.
DONT BUY THESE DECALS!!!!!!

I ordered these a month ago, sent two emails to the vendor, and had to escalate a dispute with PayPal cause these decals never showed up. DO NOT BUY THEM. This guy's a hack, BEWARE.

Not sure what has happened.
Everyone else, AFAIK, has gotten theirs.
The beef is the quality.
Last I heard he was in the process of trying to figure out the failure.
I was hoping to see a better quality product reproduced and for sale.
We'll see.
I don't blame you for disputing the non-delivery issue.

Exterior 12" Decals Now Available!
It's been a while, but I finally have another batch of exterior 12" decals available.
We had problems with some of the last run, as some of you have experienced. I've since sourced a new vendor with higher quality materials.
Cut from Oracal vinyl, these have a 3-6 year outdoor life expectancy. The vendor uses it for their personal shop signs and assures me "it lasts."
I've just found out I'm being sent over to Germany in 2 weeks, so,
SALE ENDS OCTOBER 17TH.
As always, order here:
http://www.freewebstore.org/RESPECT-YOUR-ELDERS
12" Exterior Decals only.
Shipping
ALL ORDERS WILL BE SHIPPED OCTOBER 17TH.
I will be very busy buttoning things up the next two weeks before I go away and will not have time to ship orders out daily.

We're a patient bunch.
I only applied one of the four that I bought because I'd heard about the degradation issue. Sure enough, it went tango upsilon and I'll shoot a photo of it. I must assume that the other identical one will do the same. Did the 'square' ones also degrade? I have two of those unused that I hesitated to try for fear of the same failure. What I'm getting at is, are you replacing all stickers in the batch or only those we got to break down?

For whatever reason, the deterioration issue was sporadic. I have a buddy here in Chicago that's been running his since before they came out, with no issues. I also have been running my 4" for just as long, and it still looks new. (Through 2 winters at that.) If you shoot me a picture and Paypal info, I'll be happy to replace them. Unfortunately I do not have any 4" available.
