No grey dots here, but I had a grey 2002, and it was a rust bucket, so I parted it out. So today I drive my Green 2002 for first time in long while. I've only been at work a few hours &
got 2 "nice car" complements already. Seems the over 30 crowd likes the old 2002. Never get any comments on the E28, or the E30. Hmmm

I found myself actively seeking out and listening to Master's Tournament coverage today on the radio. I hung my head in shame.

I saw a guy yesterday wearing a particularly geeky-looking Bluetooth headset, and thought about how they're all kinda geeky. Made me wonder why those things can't be... different. Like a Star Trek communicator-style badge that uses Bluetooth to connect to the phone. That would be so cool; surely somebody is already making that. I sure can't find it though.

I don't have a bluetooth headset, like for one ear, but do have bluetooth stereo headphones. Makes mowing the yard sound better than listening to the mower, when I have good tunes on the cell phone. And it has a mic so you can talk on the phone, but I rarely use that.

Tonite, I splurged & bought a grass fed new york strip at the store. Wow, more tender than the regular grain fed NY strip. Too bad I can't justify buying that all the time. Now if I can figure out how to cook a good tempeh recipe of some kind, I'll try to convince myself to get away from beef entirely & head towards a vegetarian or vegan diet. I can't give up cheese though, eggs probably gonna stay too.

Half the credit card payments I've been processing are declined. I think people simply pretend to pay with a credit card knowing full well it will be declined.

I started driving my POS roundie around the neighborhood and you can see dudes basically break their necks to get a look at it. Even in it's rough state there's just something about them.

I think the '02 is/was an iconic car to a certain generation or two and it's going to change the market in the coming years.

The e28 is just a whole other beast though in so many ways even though they're only 10 years apart. A loud-ass carbed '02 on a X-Country trip wouldn't be the most ideal thing.

Tell that to the 50+ maniacs that come to Vintage in '02s every year.

It's not nearly as unpleasant to fire someone when you're not the one who made the decision and are just the mouthpiece. Especially if you know it's justified.

If it's my decision I don't sleep well the night before. Even if it's justified.

Today I ordered my 308 AR matched billet receiver set from Cross Machine Tool. I am now venturing down the (very expensive) pathway of the 308 AR platform rifle. The goal here is to build a (relatively) handy precision semi auto rifle that will reliably make hits out to 800 yards while still able to be used for hog hunting.

The hiring and firing springtime ritual has begun here for me.
I still get a tad paranoid when I have to let someone go and they get really quiet. I know it sucks, and like, I've never been canned before? OMG. I much prefer that guy many years back, before the wife and kids, who threatened to burn my house down. My house had really bad termites and I actually had a plan myself to do just that. He was a little put off when I leaned forward and asked for ideas, maybe a more specific plan. He had nothing. No wonder he got gone.

See, this just pisses me off.

For two years I've successfully suppressed my urge to build a reach out and touch things at 1000 yards AR. And you have to go and post this bullshit.

Damn you.

Glad I could be an enabler. It seems the market is pretty flush with nice receiver and barrel options. I have a lot of 308 rifles, just not an AR platform. I'm going with either a 16 or 18" barrel to keep it as handy as possible. I know it limits me a bit past 800ish yards when the bullet goes transonic, but I'm willing to live with that tradeoff for handiness. I have several bolt guns that I can use if I want to push out to 1000 and beyond.

My kid & I stopped at Target for a couple of things tonight, and stopped for a double-take when we saw the new Hot Wheels Test Facility packages. HWTF? Really?

Look at those sweet Stig costumes on the side. Much more intriguing than just all while.

That was rather weird. http://www.donnicholsforheriff.com just pulled up the driveway and came inside the garage while I was "working". Nice guy. Should I be alarmed that he called me by name?

NO, he just wants your vote.

I finally have a buyer for my 88 e car. Wish I had finished doing something with it, but to many cars & not enough time. But I finally cooked my ''tempeh". It now looks like hash browns kinda, sprinkle it on my salads. Not bad, but had to buy several things to marinate it in.

Is it better to have
A. 88 528e and a 88 535is
or
B. 91 318is and a 88 535is
or
C. 88 535is

(your link doesn't work; missing an 's'.)

You should be more alarmed with the fact that he looks so much like you. What does your mother know about him? Or your dad?

I went to an oratorio chorus/chamber orchestra performance last night that my father-in-law was singing in; yeah, it was the wife's idea, but it was pretty good. But I was reminded of two things that really bug me about going to a concert like that:

1. People who arrive early, plant themselves in aisle seats, then give you dirty looks when you have to climb over them to get to the seats toward the center. Dipsticks. We arrived about 5 minutes before the start time, and most every aisle seat was taken, but the auditorium was less than half full.

2. People who insist on bringing their young kids (like under 2 years) to events like that. There was a young dad with a toddler on his lap about four rows in front of us, and the kid started acting up about ten minutes into the concert. I wasn't surprised, but dad apparently was. Of course dad responds to the acting up by bringing out the treats to quiet the kid down, but doesn't that seem like a reward for the bad behavior? Sorry, but I didn't shell out a bunch of cash to be distracted by your efforts to entertain and restrain your child, who is obviously bored out of his gourd. My wife wouldn't let me give him a $20 to hire a babysitter for the next time he's tempted to bring Junior along.

I'm pretty it costs more than that for a sitter these days (thankfully I don't actually know), but I sure like your idea!
