Car is running now. My friend clause changed the fuel filter for me and I am glad I did that haha. The bad the shifter still needs bushings. Right now it has no bushings with a horshoe clip around the end of the pin. So far its holding up. I have been driving it for two whole days now. Lets see how long it will last. Will try to get a video of it running up.

Got the 3 series running like a champ. Runs strong and pulls harder, all I need to do is the shifter and and put a new battery in it and it will be ready to be driven daily again. Put a spectre short ram air intake on it and its gas mileage has improved along with a couple extra hp.

http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/at ... 1368497102

A link to the picture of the modded air intake. I dont feel like uploading all the pics to my photobucket at the moment.

That air intake is not japanese and is made in the U.S.A and is an American brand air filter. :)

They come stock with 98 hp and that short ram added 2-3 possibly 4 hp. That and if I use the full out throttle enrichment switch it will waste most stock 4 bangers. The throttle enrichment switch is right underneath the air intake manifold next the the throttle cable. but since its an old car and it sat for 8 years before I bought it its more than likely lost some hp. So in any case it just regained some of the lost hp. ;)

There is no way possible that a 98hp 320i will "waste most 4 bangers". Sorry, but you are delusional.

Most 4 cylinder cars these days have 140-200 horsepower and will walk away from a 535i.

Yes but most of them dont have such a long second gear anymore. And it really is the driver. Ive had my car when it had the intake leak up to 140 clocked next to my pal johnnys rediculous cobra which is the second fastest car in town. Its been clocked at 215mph.
Now it pulls harder and revs allot quicker not to mention does 45 in first gear, 75 in second, idk in 3 or 4th cause the speedo doesnt go that high.

I call major ass wobbling giant piles of BS on that.

I owned an E21, a very clean solid (powerful, dyno at 110) and have seen many of them, and watched the fastest of them drive. YOUR car as seen in those pictures, does NOT have the capability to run 140mph. PERIOD. There is a built 320i running 10-15psi hitting 200hp on a turbo that maxes out at 120-130.

that car was the IS version, made no difference in power at all, and would do 30 in first on a good day. I got a speeding ticket maxing that car down the hwy once, cop said i was doing 110. There was NOTHING left for that car to give.

Because of the gearing, you can NOT hit 45 in 1st, again, not even the TURBO M10 e21 does that. 75 in 2nd... no. no. no. no......... NO. 60 IF you're lucky in 2nd.

I have no idea what drugs you're taking for your delusional personality, but please go take them.

your friend with the cobra was either lying to you, or his speedo is out by an insane amount.

Me thinks the decimal point was forgotten.

4.5 in first
7.5 in second
3rd and fourth shit the bed so idk.

I wanna see a video of the e21 doing this. I'm also always in to see the second fastest rEdiculous car. I love me some Cobra Kai motherf*ckers!!

RPM: 6500

Gear Road speed
1st 30.5
2nd 57.4
3rd 86.3
4th 114.7
5th (theoretical top speed if the car was in a vacuum so that there would be no drag) 141.7

Keep in mind that a car with twice the power and those aerodynamics had trouble approaching that theoretical top speed. In fact, the car probably hits its actual top speed in 4th. I think your friend is just messing with you.

You guys. There's plenty of places a stock E21 will do 140. Off the Empire State Building. Down the Grand Canyon. Dropped from a C5A cargo plane. There's lots of places, you just have to pick them. :D

215 mph cobra sounds safe.

Cobra pushes 650hp. The fastest car in town is owned by a guy who drag races professionally. He lives 25 miles out of town in a sweet house. He drives it on the weekends and races the tech students with it. They normally lose. Does it mean anything that there was a 55mph wind that day that i was going with not against? And yes i have no clue as to what the car he drives is. All i know is that its a dodge. And it pushes 1000hp. I do know its a twin turbocharged v10. And you can here the monster from across town.

And you had plenty of pixie dust...

No, it really doesn't mean anything. Your car will not go that fast. Your car is not faster than most 4 bangers. Your car cannot go 45 in 1st or 75 in 2nd.
