just wait and see, until they come on the car, I'm sure it will be nice. Based on how I like it then, and that is the most important. :)

Hay B,

You should colour code the spokes on your new wheels to match your paintwork.

Powdercoated? They look a lot like mine, only that mines are Zinc coated to minimize rust attack.

positiv wrote:Another thing Ivar you should take and copy over the thread you have on Bimmers, over here so the world can see how an E28 Alpine should be restored. When there is no doubt that you most have one of the most through out project, which is done on an E28 :) :) :)
Thank you, Bent - for the kindest words. In some ways, you may be right - in others not. I do go through the entire car, but since I am not building a "new" car - I am not that detailed like you have been. I just want mine to be a bit over average, I cannot pay more attention than I do already, coz my E21 will be the "anal- perfection-project". My E28 will look good finished (hopefully), but when parking next to yours - I will stand in the shadow when it comes to perfection. But as I said, I am aware of it. I just want to have a fun car, that looks good, and rides well.

I have considered for a long time if I should set up a thread here also, but to be honest - I do not know if I am ready for it. I have a seen quite a lot of internet-heroes on different US-forums, that are directly rude - too rude. I do not affect easily, but I do not want to waste my time. I have dropped out from every US-forum exept this one, but I have not been a regular here. Lately, I have been more frequently - and so far I enjoy this forum. So yes, maybe I should copy some pictures over to this thread. (But I do have a lot of pics in the Norwegian thread, almost too many ;) )

I agree with Pedi....

There are a lot of Forums out there that are simply rude...

I think restoring a car needs to be done right, but it also depends on budgets, specially if the restorer have family, etc.

For me, i had wait for 2 years, since i could purchase this car, in a "reasonable" good condition... However, these cars involves many details to make them as much original as possible, and parts, especially badge, and upholstery is really hard to acquire recently.

I really have done very few contacts over here that i am really happy with. Almost everyone who i have exchange emails and stuff have been nice.

I do have some other purchase pendings, but i need to wait until early January, since i do work on a monthly budget for this car, otherwyse, my wife will pass me the bill!!

Happy New Year to everyone...

Abdiel
