Merciless Mings is a good friend of mine in SoCal that works and restores Honda N600 cars. He's kinda angry and anti social, therefore merciless.

This was a great gift box and I am very appreciative. I will definitely be participating next year.

Thanks!
You are welcome. What you have their are Eastern flies that we use for Brook, Brown and Rainbow trout. The Rapidan is the river where President Hoover's fish camp was. We still fish the whole range, and I was on the Rapidan last month for brookies (catch and release). The Ringneck Pheasant tail and Merriam Turkey wing feathers are from birds I killed in Nebraska. We use them for tying flies, so if you or a friend do that then part 'em out. The flies in the case include Mr. Rapidan dry, Mr. Rapidan nymph and pheasant tail nymph, rubber leg pheasant tail and deer hair black ants.

Also a Chuck Kraft Kreelex and Crayfish.

That large green/white floater is a 'Gurgler' and is great on bass.

When we Roll the Twisties I'm always torn because we're driving right along some of the best trout waters in the East but never have the time to stop and fish.

After a bit of a scare on Monday afternoon when I found out that the Mail'N'More office ISN'T open on the 24th, I got my box just before they closed. Courtesy of TravisJ, another successful year. I left the pic in high res so you can zoom in a bit for closer inspection. In no particular order...

Image

An inflatable Sinclair Fuel dinosaur, a Milwaukee's Best T, a sleeve of Calloways with ball mark repair tool, a 15 DVD box set of some classic Blaxploitation films from the 70s and 80s (worth the zoom), a BMW keychain, a pair of E28 head/fog light switches, MyE28.com stickers (inside and out!), various CDs, duct tape and non-slip grip pads, magic eraser, ass't candy, iPhone car charger, zip ties and stickers, some ragin music-related trading cards, a Copper Mtn zipper pull, a coupla wipes, some Arby's signature BBQ sauce, a nerf-ish soccer ball and a light up spider necklace.

Thanks Bro.

ahab,
I kinda felt short after seeing the box you sent.
Take a second look at the golf balls. There is a 4corners meet logo on them.

Hopefully I have a box waiting on my door step when I get home. I was still empty handed as of Christmas Day. :(

I went the the office today, and waited for the mail lady. After 3 hours, I went outside and waited. After 5 more mins, she turned the corner and stopped. No box! :bawl:

It appears she didn't think we would be open over the holidays, so everything was waiting at the P.O.

Drove over to the P.O. to take delivery, and I wasn't disappointed!

Image

The box contained...

- BMW / E28 embroidered sweatshirt
- black BMW embroidered hat
- khaki BMW embroidered hat (which I am wearing as I type this)
- Hot Wheels Van (with explaination)
- Ice Scraper
- 3 ball point pens
- Road Mix CD with "love note"

This box is awesome! Thanks so much, Phil! Also, thanks to your daughter for a great Road Mix CD. Love it! I don't know if I should be embarrassed that I have the same musical taste as a 20 YO girl, or she should, since a 44 YO Dad likes her music! :dunno: LOL!

Thanks again, Phil, and looking forward to the next PBE!

Long live this MyE28 tradition, and Happy New Year to all!

Also, thanks to Davintosh for keeping this alive!

Travis, give yourself a break! This tradition is about the act of giving, not measuring up on whether or not someone feels that parity is achieved. I'm stoked over what I received this year. I'm sorry that your box is stuck in the ether, hopefully that will resolve itself shortly. I had not noticed the logo'd balls, awesome. I've somehow hung onto 2 of the 3 Ween golf balls I got many years ago. I'm so bad at the game that I only break 'em out for gimmies, and I still lost one. These will go in that same zipper pouch. Thanks again.

Still no box today :bawl:
I am heading out of town tomorrow through the New Year. Hopefully nobody snatches it off the porch before then.

ahab-
I hear ya! I have a few logo balls that I have held on for years too. Not as cool as Ween though! that's awesome!

I was telling someone at work about a good deal on a case of balls and he laughed. He said, "some of us only need to buy balls by the sleeve!" I'm thankful when I get through more than one hole with the same ball!

I will start a stash for my sophomore attempt for the next box exchange. I know I have a few good smaller parts somewhere that will fit. ;)

This is getting suckier by the day. If it's any consolation, we're not the only ones, although it sounds like UPS & FedEx sucked more than the USPS. I sent a Priority Mail package to my son in NC on Monday, and it didn't arrive until today, even though they promised it would be there yesterday.

The morons at the condo complex front desk returned the package to the Post Office today. Every day since we've been here, I've gone to the front desk to ask about the package and to remind them that it will not have a room number on it. And I asked them to confirm that my name is listed on the room registration. And that I was expecting a package.

Here's hoping I can get to the PO today before they close and after the truck has returned.

That's one of the benefits of setting up the shipment & paying for it online. You click a checkbox to get email updates for the shipment. But of course there need to be updates posted in order to see anything.

Yes, Revenge. On MY laptop. Kids.

Seriously Dave, that's pretty elitist. Not everyone here has Internet access.

Charlie, I made special effort to spell your name correctly. ;)

Also, you're going to receive another box in Washington with all the crap I forgot to put into that one along with your purchase.

You know it's going to be good when the package is sealed with Evident-tamper-tape!

Image

Here's everything laid out:
Image

Let's go through everything, piece by peice. First off we have some sort of spigot thingy. I have no idea what this is for, but this is the kind of thing I know I'll be glad to have someday.
Image

Next, a light bar from some era BMW that I don't have, yet.
Image

Image

Oh, most everything was packed in this nice bag. I'll add it to my wife's grocery shopping bag collection...she'll never notice.
Image

Will this Redline air cleaner assembly work on my M20?
Image

One can never have enough upper timing chain covers.
Image

Or, check modules.
Image

Image

A brand new cruise control cable! Will this fit an E28, Chris?
Image

I think this is a used boob implant.
Image

How'd you know I had a side marker light on the fritz? Or is this a turn signal?
Image

Another marker light. Will this fit the E9 I don't have yet?
Image

I have no freaking idea what this black piece of metal is.
Image
Image

I have a huge collection of license plate frames, because the first thing I do when i buy a car is remove them. Someday I'm going to create a display somewhere in the garage for them. This will fit in nicely.
Image

Clock only OBC unit. Neat, because I have a wild plan on embedding a Valentine 1 remote unit in one of these.
Image

I'm confused. Do *I* get the facial or does McKenna?
Image

Chris, what's your story with Coast Motor Werk? Nice pen.
Image

When I first saw this film canister, I sorta hoped it was already exposed and that it was part of my "gift" to have it developed. Maybe I'll do that to my priority box target next year!
Image

Oddly, this Arizona State Flag emblem is one of my favorite things in the box. It reminds me of my dad.
Image

P21S Cockpit Cleaner
Image

Maple Syrup. From Cracker Barrel. Timely.
Image

Mother's wash & wax.
Image

A really cool t-shirt. A bit small for me though.
Image

Roundel stickers!!!!! I've already put one on my laptop.
Image

I think these are noise makers. Are they designed to scare varmints off the road or are they audible?
Image

I will def use this stuff.
Image

Beer coozie!
Image

A yellow Aetna bouncy ball. Everyone should have one.
Image

Toolkit tools.
Image

Jack holder.
Image

Thanks Chris! Well done.

Wow. That's a pretty good box. I forgot I put half of that in there. I was pretty bummed for you seeing some of these other boxes. Still, there's more stuff coming your way, so you will have to follow-up with it.

A few details on what's in there:

The valve was on a propane tank (which exploded in the gas explosion at my grandma's house). I took the valve off and put the heater on it which was next to it just to make it easier to store. Someone left it in a storage unit where I store stuff, so they said, "hey, you look like you'd like this." I guess I am one of those guys that looks like he has a penchant for propane. I do like Hank Hill though.

The green gel thingy is an ice pack dealie.

The film was an unexposed roll I found in the B7.

The "noise makers" are deer whistles from my B7 Turbo.

Image
Wow. Forgot the front of that car looked that bad.

The turn signal is a turn signal.

The other lamp is an E34/E36 sidemarker (you should know that, having had an M-sport). There were supposed to be two in case you wanted to be super Euro but I couldn't find the other one, so you could do something else with it.

The black piece of metal is an airfoil for the driver's wiper arm. They were riveted to the arm, so measure, drill and rivet it to yours. Bam. Euro M5.

The light board you don't recognize is the automatic tranny indicator lighting board for an automatic E23, E24 or E28. You might be glad you have that when your D burns out on the eta.

The kickdown cable is just that. A kickdown cable for your automatic E28. It's brand new.

The jack holder thingy is a wheel chock. You put this in front of the opposite wheel when jacking up the car. If you have a really nice, never used one in the car, it's always nice to have another that you can use.

The AZ flag thing was a mainstay of cars sold here during the 1980s and 1990s by various dealers. They weren't enamel, rather painted, and that one is a pretty nice one, I think.

Image
I have no idea why this car has one.

The air filter was from a friend's 2002. It was in a box of crap he gave me.

The timing cover is an M10 timing cover. From the same box of crap.

The Coast Motor Werk stuff was in a goodie bag from their Beers, Brats and BMWs event which I attend on my way home from 5erWest and before that because I was in town. I had the same thought on that card. I guess it wasn't worded by someone like us. Still, I figured that if anyone you know was in Orange County and wanted a great deal on a facial, I apparently had a connection.

I know the tools aren't spectacular, but I figured you could do something with them. I was running out of ideas and almost sent you a whole flat rate box of spark plug wrenches and lug wrenches, but I thought that would be mean.

Now you are just fucking with me. Do have any idea how much I want a B7 to restore now?
(you should know that, having had an M-sport). I'd know that if it wasn't 10 years ago and if I actually did any real work on it. I had little kids then...

Oh, so it's not normal for only D and R to light up?

When we lived in phoenix in the 80s my dad had all the 300TD wagons. I swear he had one of these on one.

I received my box from CharleyDog yesterday! I'm sorry it has taken me so long to get photographs but I've been too many busy.

Image

It all came in a Large Flat Rate Box.

Anyway, thanks to the letter included at the bottom of the box, some of my questions were answered.

Image

Image

Image

Image

Anyway, so here's what I got.

1. The letter
2. Advertisement for 533i
3. A roll of some sort of sealant of death tape
4. Moving the Earth: The Workbook of Excavation
5. Automotive Engine Design
6. A .50 cal speed-loader
7. Lock-picking set. :D
8. The world's coolest paperweight
9. Pair of Craftsman Professional Bent Nose pliers
10. Pick tool
11. 3/8"x3/8" SGS Square End Mill (contains a chemical known to cause cancer in California - good thing I'm in Arizona)
12. The most useful tool ever - 10mm Gearwrench
13. Ashtray carved from soapstone
14. Outlet to bulb socket adapter
15. Three packs of silica gel - guy knows his desiccants.

I think this is an awesome box. Two very cool books, some really useful tools, and I love this gearbox thing. I couldn't imagine what this component cost to make between the machine work, the bearings and all of the other components on it.

Thank you very much Brady!

Well I must admit I was beginning to lose faith.
But now I know there is a God and a FedEx delivery system.

I've been rather busy the last few days, and didn't get in until late last night,
although those activities ended around 1700 hours,
but I did manage to open the PBE box a few minutes ago,
but didn't get to take pics and inventory yet, that'll happen later today.

In the mean time, Thanks E. Rankin, from Asheville, NC. Image
