It was surprising to me how much heavier the stock exhaust is.

I wonder if it is worth selling or if I should try to get scrap $$ for the cat? It's in perfectly fine condition other than one dent and the fact that the tips are pretty rusted.

Then the other classic: Have your friend drive by you (in his neighborhood) so you can hear it for the first time. It's his neighborhood and his kids so the fact that he's slightly speeding is his problem .

cat should be worth a couple hundred as scrap, or if its not covered in cracks as usual useful to someone whos is, especially if they live in one of the communist states with sniffer tests, factory cat even that old is still better then some of the aftermarket units

On the fitment, remember this was a used exhaust. Tweaking it to line up right will be simple...

They actually require a lot of tweaking when new, so the car it was on before probably never had that done. Decent product for the money, but like most things at a certain price point, it has drawbacks. One of which you sorted by painting the muffler.

Looks like some sort of really shitty hybrid of CCW Classics and Fikse FM-10s. Made in China crap, I'm sure, especially for that price.

I paid just a little less than this and still had to have mine powder coated and buy new center caps. You can't beat the original finish by BBS. Just buy some rings and you're set.

BBS RX "RX 223" "8Jx16H2"
Diameter: 16"
Width: 8"
Offset: ET15

I think I must stick with the same 225/50R16 size I currently have. I thought maybe there'd be a 235/50R16 (unicorn) or a 245/45R16 (too wide) but no.

These will be summer wheels, but need to have great wet performance. I will not be tracking the car but drive it daily on a mix of highway and city streets. If I had to stack rank tire characteristics they'd be:

- Dry grip
- Wet grip
- Low noise
- Minimal tramlining
- Price
- Wear

Sadly Vredestein does not make the Ultrac Sessantas in 16". I loved those tires on my C63 AMG. They were quiet and fantastic in the wet.

I have BFGoodrich g-Force Sport's on my '88 911 and am quite happy with them, but the primary reason I choose them is there are not may choices available for 15" wheels.

Commencing tire research now...now.

Continental Extreme Contact DW is in my opinion the ideal summer tire.

225/50/16 is what you want to run. 235s if they existed would be too big and 245s are too wide especially with the lower offset.

I'll third that. I used to work at Discount Tire for 2 years and these will be my next set of tires, definitely. I've heard/red nothing but good things about them.
