Mine's in the trunk laying on top of the battery tray cover.
I'm trying to decide where to stick it, maybe the tool box. :|

If I can change one of my vacation weeks I'm down for representing H-Town.

If all goes as planned with the car I could be challenging for the title of "fastest e28". ;)

Yeah, I plan on it. Dammit, Heather's going to Vegas with the girls, I can get a couple extra days turning money into noise and spent rubber. Besides, we'll be finishing in WV. Close(r) to home.
... in an e28 this time! (I'll be e24-ing it to PVGP/Sharks in The Park)

Mr. Twisty,
Is it too early to call and make reservations?
Is there a discount code, if not, what's the way to get the best rate?

Sa-weet! I'll be there too, but I'm not yet certain what car I'll be driving yet. Bandit needs some work for me to be confident that he'll be able to make the trek...

Not too early to call, just make sure you let them know you are part of the RTT Tour.

And, when calling the casino, ask for the freebees (chips, etc.).

If your going to the casino there will be a need to let MR twisty Know. Then Mr twisty will fill out the manifest provided by the casino and the people on the list will get some freebies most likely in the casino and a blow job by the new Miss America or a possible delegate. The part about the manifest is true.

My application is being reviewed by an event coordinator, and if approved I will be accepted!

Image

From the 2011 essay:
"This year’s driving experience brought about the recognition of the need for navigation teams. Having a driver and competent navigator pared in a car can make a world of difference when it comes to getting from point A to point B. There is no doubt that showing up with a car and following others brings with it a sort of easy going freedom. However, the reality is that everyone needs to be prepared to navigate at some point. Thus, all participants should familiarize themselves with the route via the website. Going forward, we might have navigation teams voluntarily step forward in order to allow some respite for those who traditionally point the direction.

The CB radios worked and made life much easier."

I'm going to start recruitment of a navigator/co-pilot now, in the hopes that I will be approved by the event coordinators review board. :D

Mr. Twisty would Nicke28 concedared as a trail seeking, recluse, and endangerment kind of driver and would he be allowed to use his knock down kit to show how fast his e28 moves?

Well, that will put a crimp in the TSD Rallye winning team repeating won't it?

My application has been submitted. I will be there (pending approval and finishing the S50 swap) in the S50 powered E34 Touring. Memphis Motor Werks finished the head work yesterday. It is a piece of art!

That's awesome Greg! I'll work on getting Bandit ready but I don't want to make any promises I can't keep. I'll make a decision on May 1st... which will hopefully be after a month of driving locally...

If Bandit is giving you trouble, I could use a co-pilot. And I hear you're pretty good at that whole TSD thing.

Edit: I should probably mention I'd be more than happy to help you fix her (him?) if you need it.

Its probably nothing I can't have fixed by then though. I need to do the following:

Valve adjustment
Finally fix the coolant temperature gauge
Perhaps install the spare water pump and maybe replace any cooling parts that seem worn*
Add a spare ECU (unknown number at this time) to my spare parts assortment**
Add a spare fuel pump to my spare parts assortment**

There's might be something else too but that's the big stuff.

* Bandit ran hot during the 2011 5erFest and that was the last time he had any significant driving time. But then almost all the older cars ran hot because it was so bloody hot during that weekend.
** Also on the way home from 5erFest half a mile from my house Bandit stalled out for no apparent reason. I pulled into the UDF and re-started him fine. So I have no idea what the problem was but my guess is that is was electrical based on how the engine immediately stopped. But I want more spares and more local driving time to see if this is replicated.

I share your anxiety! :nopity: Given your the impeccable behaviour of you, your co-pilot/navigator and your M5 during the 2011 event you're odds of receiving a high score and admittance from the review board must be quite good! Others who may have attracted the attention of the WV State Police are certainly on edge.  :hysterical:

This is the official RTT Thread now. Please sticky.

The third annual Rolling the Twisties (RTT12) will take place from Sunday May 27 to Wednesday May 30, 2011. Although not affiliated with Scott Sturdy’s “The Vintage” (formerly Vintage at the Vineyards), the event begins conveniently from Winston-Salem, NC on the Sunday immediately following the conclusion of Vintage.
