I have a 1997 BMW 540i Touring Sedan that was purchased through Sears BMW of Minnetonka Overseas Delivery Program. Delivered at the factory to the original physician owner, continous BMW dealer service, with a complete log of service from the delivery date in Europe. It has the original leather valise provided when sold new containing the Owner's Manual, Service, Warranty, Maintenence, Stereo System, Overseas Delivery, and European Dealer books, the factory supplied First Aid kit, and factory tools in the trunk lid compartment. New balanced front pulley.
AC System is all there, but not hooked up.
I have it inside storage for the winter, but I wanted to get it up for sale before Spring rolls around.
It does have new 15" Alpina replica wheels with locks and New Yokohama S-Drive 50 series tires, Bilstein sport suspension and lowering springs, New full exhaust system from the headers back, New clutch - resurfaced flywheel , New Slave Cylinder, new paint in 2007, battery relocation kit and rear tower brace, @ new OEM front fenders and lower valance, front bumper was shortened 4-5" (I have put the rubber bellows back on since these photos were taken), 2 New front Control Arms. Poly Urethane Bushings Front and Back, K&N Intake, New Bosch cap and rotor, O2 sensor and tool, New Hood Insulation foam, and tons of other bits....
The seats and carpet kit are in amazing original condition!
I also have a mint condition set of OEM BMW 13" steel wheels with Pirelli Winter tires and have never used them.
Stereo is a Sony CD + Ipod/MP3/phone port deck, Alpine 300w Amp running front and rear speakers.
The oil spots on the driveway are from my dump truck. This car does not leak any fluids.

This is a very rare BMW for the discriminating taste, the 1988 L6. The L6 is a limited edition luxury coupe, with only 102 total in this 1988 model year (and just 1700 or so built in 1987, the only other year the L6 was offered, and only here in the US).
Every option was built into the L6 as standard, including leather all throughout the interior, seats, doors, sidewalls, and headliner. Sport and Economy automatic transmission settings, cruise control, ABS, AC, power sunroof, literally power everything . . . even the back passengers have their own separate air conditioning plus an AC cooled soft drink compartment between the seats.
The very rare 1988 model was the first year to have the smaller, modern and better looking bumpers, as well as the driver's airbag.
This L6 was formerly in Chicago much all of its life, owned by just two members of one family until we purchased her . . . and then our family has had her registered in three entities.
"Rare L6" as she is tagged here in Kansas as well when she was in IL won quite a few awards from BMW group car shows there in the Chicagoland area, including three National Championships in the BMW Car Club of America's Concours d'Elegance National competitions. Many upgrades were done, too, such as 17" BBS RK wheels with Yokohama AVA sport tires, Dinan performance chip, Alpine CD/radio/disk changer with Boston acoustic speakers, K&N cold air intake as but a few examples. For this last summer season, I complete replaced the old factory BMW unit and installed a latest and greatest brand system.
She has no damage history, a clean Carfax, 179500 miles total . . . and is owned free and clear.
"Rare L6" runs very good . . . we drive her just occaisionally for special events. She has no dents, door dings, outstanding paint/windows/chrome, and an excellent all leather interior. The car is not parked next to other cars, is never out when it rains, is always stored inside my hangar covered and the recently new battery is on a trickle charger. I also have the Owner's and many of the sales and support manuals, as well as the complete BMW tool kit in the trunk lid.
And outstanding and extremely rare BMW. I know you will enjoy her, as we have.

Up for sale is my 1987 BMW 535i E28. I am a bit of an E28 enthusiast and have had multiple of these cars over the past years. I recently narrowed down my collection and this is the last one to go. I have been using this car as my daily driver for over six months now and have enjoyed every day of it. I am selling it because I started a new job and I no longer have the time to tinker with it.....the car is 25 years old and does have its quirks. It is garaged kept and is quite the eye catcher. I get complements on it nearly every day.
Note: Cars 25 years and older do not require emissions test to be registered in Fairfax county!
The car has a new windshield, 7 spoke BMW rims with low profile sport tires, and a full size spare in great shape. All of the switches and buttons work on the car. The power windows and sunroof all work. I got the AC functioning last September, but it will need to be charged this year. The interior of the car is in very nice shape minus ageing marks on the driver seat. I have babied this car as I love the look of the E28's and this car has been very reliable for me.
I replaced the rotors with after marked drilled and slotted zinc plated rotors over Christmas holiday. New brake pads were installed as well. The brake fluid will need to be replaced as it is suggested to be flushed every year or so and I have not done it since its been in my care. I replaced the pitman arms on the two rear swing arms and the steering arm in the front. The upper control arm bushings and the lower-left control arm have also been replaced. I was replacing worn steering/suspension components as time and money allowed.
This car has the more modern ('86-'88) electronic and hydraulic combination controlled automatic transmission with the sport, economy, and 123 (manual) settings. The transmissions electronic control unit (ECU) will need to be replaced eventually ($50 on craigslist/eBay). It is one of the projects I never got to on the car. I will include the Bentley Mechanic maintenance manual and some odd parts with the sale.

The engine still runs great, very smooth, starts immediately, body is in good shape.Automatic transmission. It has 109,000 miles. I know the car to be mechanically sound. Exhaust is 3 years old. Very little attention is needed, it is an every day car. Please only serious purchases.
