My aunt and uncle lived in Ireland for a few years. They said the cuss words we use are used as normal accepted language there. The only word that is truly taboo is the c-word.

Well, up here, we spell that 10-letter word with a 'K' and it refers to the governor ...

That's funny. I stayed with a family I knew from church near London, and I said 'hell' a couple times and almost got kicked out. I can't remember what cuss word they were throwing around, but I was surprised at them balking at 'hell'.
Can't imagine if I would have said "bloody hell".

Count your blessings; I'm thinking the Sharpie treatment could've been far, far worse.

Thanks for the link but I'm already aware of that thread as evidenced by the 23 times I posted in it.

As long as no one else between you and 100 posts anymore...
I don't think I'll ever move above #9. Everyone above me is still pretty active and has at least 1000 posts more than me. That's fine with me. Moving up on the post count board has never been a goal.

What the hell's the matter with you, slacker? You have a goal in sight - so get there! You know you want to! All you have to do is swallow your pride and make an inane comment on every bit of bullshit you see. You know; like Kohler ...

I've met 8 from the '07 list and 10 from the current one. And my status will continue to slip, I think, as the time window during which I can access this site has shrunk dramatically. I'm not working substantially higher hours than I was in grad school, but during grad school my experiments were riddled with lots of 5- and 10-minute periods of down time that were too short to use for really productive work, but were just right for reading and responding to threads on here.

I speak to the pod-people from time to time too. 01745 is my favorite number.

Wait... You think your time here is unproductive? Totally wrong attitude.

If I were a lot more inebriated I might be inclined to change your avatar to an image more appropriate. Something involving ponies and phalluses I think might be best to represent you properly.
