Tea! Tea!! What is this "Tea" crap?
Tea is the drink of those who drive British or Japanese cars, only.
Coffee is where it's at. Black, strong. and preferably French Roast. (Hell, I wanna be buried in casket filled with French Roast!)
If you want iced coffee, put 3 shots espresso in a glass, over ice, add whatever diary based product you enjoy. I do understand some misguided folks put sugar or the like in their coffee. That is fine I guess, they can ruin their coffee as they see fit.
Enjoy

It's the middle of September. Hot tea weather is almost upon us. But if you insist on a summer drink...
The thing for summer is lemonade. Make it yourself and nothing store-bought will ever satisfy you again, except a new M-coupe.
Get twice as many lemons as limes. Microwave them for 20 seconds or so, depending on how powerful your oven is, then roll them roughly. This gets you more juice. With this recipe, 10 lemons and 5 limes gets you around 5 quarts of lemonade.
Juice the limes first, and if they're seedless (most are) don't use a strainer; all the pulp goes into the juice, and with limes, the membranes don't come along for the ride.
Use a strainer with the lemons, to catch the seeds and the membranes.
Only juice each half lemon or lime for about 2 seconds, so you don't get a lot of rindy taste into the mix.
Once you have the juice, add 5-6 cups of water for each cup of juice. (5 is pretty strong, and keeps its flavor for a long time in an ice-filled glass.) The trick is to pour the water through the pulp-filled strainer from about two feet up. This gets a lot more pulp into the mix, while leaving the seeds and membranes behind.
Now add about 2/3 cup of sugar for each cup of juice, and shake. You might have to shake more than once. The result is not quite as sweet as the syrupy goop from the store. But it's just as expensive and a lot more work, so you'd better enjoy it.

a's quick Arnold Palmer. Go outside, pick a good handful of spearmint. Crush it into a pyrex 2 qt dish. add 48 oz water and 6 teabags, Nuke for 7.5 minutes. When done, remove tea bags, add 72 oz of lemonade ( one 12 oz can of concentrate.)
Coffee is ingested black . For many yrs, I would put anisette in an after dinner coffee. On the last RTT, I tried adding a shot of Myers rum to to my first cup in the morning. Cowabunga.

The only thing I want in my coffee is enough water to rinse out the cup and fill it with plain water.oldskool wrote:twin55 wrote:Mmm...sound like a Revolution is coming.
Yes, . . . the winds are 'a changing it seems. Why not? And just for the record, the only thing I want in my coffee is a shot of brandy.

I'm happy with a piping hot, sausage and cheese biscuit and some ice cold milk.
