The one redeeming quality.
In all fairness to the E36 genre, my 98.5 M3 was a very well put together car. The interior was very nice. It was an absolute pleasure to drive. I wish I had it back.

I suggest you be patient with the search. With all this bad weather most 'verts are hidden away in the garage and the owners are not even thinking about selling yet. Early March might change the availability quite a bit.

It's not an E36, but it could be the perfect car for you:
2000 5 speed 323Ci. It's in good shape, belongs to a customer at the shop and definitely in your price range. They are looking to sell it quickly as they are heading out of the country for a couple of years for work and don't want to pay to store it properly. I told them I'd check before they listed it since I knew you were looking for one.

It really is. Quite a deal at $3200.
Ah well, I'll tell them shagrath isn't interested.

Paul that car looks like a smokin deal . I take it that it was well maintained and you know the history.

Yeah, the records at the shop show only minor issues that a DIYer could knock out easily.

That really sounds like it's pretty much exactly what Matt is looking for! Nice looking car. Cheap too. Seems like they need someone like Matt to do them a favor and take it off their hands for cheap then "sell it for them." Or something. There has to be someone soon to be fixing to be on the lookout for a car around March.
Hope Matt and Lin-Z don't end up kicking themselves with the turdblow beetle.

OP, your search for advice and leads in this thread started with an e36 vert or "we will also consider e46 sedans and coupes of the 323 and 325" etc.
It's obvious buying the car was not a "we" decision. In the end, your wife buys a "chick" car. Good for her. However, if I were you, I would have steered her towards a Mazda Miata.
But you should not be surprised that you are getting flamed.

When this thread started I knew it would conclude in a
BMWGiant© X Skirtz© train-wreck to the 10th power fashion.

So exactly how many times are you going to say "I should have never come back", then drag up again every time your ass gets in a bind? Jeez.
Put up or shut up.

If memory serves, this should sound awfully familiar to you shouldn't it Kyle? Didn't you threaten to "leave" about a year ago?

shagrath wrote:Nah. I figured I would get flamed no matter what I do. Doesn't really matter. Option you are right, it was a trainwreck from the beginning, and I haven't a clue why I even posted a thread here for looking. I figured "oh, maybe it might do us some good to expand our search to the forum too..."
I was wrong.
I really should never have come back here. I knew better. Or maybe not. *sigh* Oh well.
Would you characterize it like a middle-school thing: "Dang, I just don't fit in".
Or more like a high-school thing: "These fags just don't get me."
