Last year Mr.Lastovo wouldn't continue the tradition, but hopefully 2017's Sundaynight will end with:

Can I come? I've booked my hotel already. And that's the weekend of my wife's birthday ... ought to be interesting.

I don't think I even brought a camera because, why would I want pics of some dudes standing around cars in a parking lot...

I booked a flight yesterday. Friday 9:45am arrival and Sunday 9:45pm departure. Booked on Southwest, so no change or cancellation fees if I decide to drive out there. I may switch arrival to Thursday afternoon if others arrive on Thursday and want to hang out.

Maybe not directly, but isn't Mr. Burger texting you a photo of his meat?

We're going to break with tradition and have a working heater this year.

The question is, drive or fly? Three hour, $165 flight or a 20hr drive??

Hmmmmm, decisions decisions.

It's a car event, Drive!!!

On the other hand, lets say your total cost per mile is .33/mile. That's cheap, real cheap, much less than the IRS allows. But if so, that's $900 round trip, plus a couple of extra days of lodging. I'm a drivin' fool myself, but sometimes the numbers just don't work. Of course if you have a companion or want to make it a little vacation with maybe a detour or two like I'm planning on, that changes things a bit.

Economically, flying might be optimal. My poor little e28 doesn't get very good mileage either.

Is this open to anyone/everyone?

I live just north of Los Angeles, so a jaunt down to SD isn't too hard. It appears this is a good time, and would be nice to connect in person.

I don't golf. On a recent mini-golf outing, my family thought that I was trying to be funny when I was in fact trying to play the game as it was intended to be played. But perhaps you could use a dedicated drinker on the course?

We have an official NorCal/LA/OC Caravan that leaves LA around noon on that Friday. The NorCal crew (if there any this year although elguappo and Yar promised to come this year) leaves the Bay Area at O'Dark Thirty that morning and typically make it here to the LA area around 11-11:30am. I meet them and host a quick lunch at the hangar (in Pacoima just down the road from you) then we all head southeast on the 210 to make the Inland track to San Diego. We sometimes pick up folks along the way. I'll make an official thread for it again sometime in the next month or two.
Drop me a PM with you contact info and I'll stay in touch.
