Duke your poll options don't comply with my opinions so sorry I can't participate.

As another long time e28er who has always been a fan of forced induction I take exception to your statement that you were a part of the beginning of FI on mye28. You were involved but as as opponent, not a promoter. Ironically you have resumed this role.

Todd has left. Get over it.

Why did your poll single out TCD? There are/were other turbo e28's through the years. Plus many home brew kits that are certainly worthwhile. Don't forget the popular 545 swaps of not too many years ago.

Duke I know you and have respected you over the years. You have always been willing to push the envelope and try new things with your mods. For a very long time most people on these forums felt the same way. You need to stop going on and on about this. Any one of us who modifies their car in this manner is solely responsible for what happens. You got dealt a bad hand with the machining of your head. You singled this out and beat the subject to death. Turns out the block was also an issue. It is your responsiblity to check for this once you have a problem. Instead you cried foul that the MLS is crap and they don't last. That's BS IMO. If you had stopped pointing the finger at someone else and rationally looked for other potential problems then you would not have had continual MLS gasket failures. You even got a new head and redid it but your problem didn't go away. That's a sure sign the issue is somewhere else.

I am sorry you went through all of that trouble but you have no right pinning the blame on someone else. You drove the car and drove it hard. Things break when you do that. I know first hand. I bent the crankshaft in my first turbo car by launching too hard. I didn't blame Ford, who built the engine. We're all familiar with my blown up M30. Again my own fault. I knew there was a potential weakness and pushed it anyway.

Oh and I am not here defending TCD although I must admit it may look that way. I am just tired of the continual slander and baiting you seem to do in all your posts on the FI forum. If anything is keeping me off of here it is you.

Also RussianBlues' points were dead on. It's a bit aggressive in here and if you don't already know the answer and have the facts to back it up you might be a bit unwillling to participate. This forum for some reason, with the exception of maybe Pirate4x4, seems to revel in the firm and quick belittling of someone who's not with the program more than any other I have visited. It is very harsh. Not a whole lot of positive reinforcement vs the negative.

I would participate more but right now I can't as I don't have time to hang out here as much as I'd like. I am very interested in the outcome of a couple of ongoing projects and would like to see Turbodans' results once his car is complete. I too will have a new build thread soon and expect to share ideas and opinions with those here when I do.

I don't care either way, I'm just bored and would like to point out you used the e28s last available date and the e36's first. They are hardly only 4 years apart in terms of features and style, technology and market.
I'd argue that despite the small time gap, they're completely different in the four variables you listed. The FI section of bf.c is probably 95% 3 series, just a more marketable car to a younger enthusiast crowd and a larger following. I love both 3s and 5s, but my car reflects my choice in the matter (E34 :D ). Either way, boosted bimmers FTW.

Duke...stop being bitter...goodness.....

Let it the hell go already. You are the only one that has had issues with TCD that I know of. You did a lot of crazy things with your tuning. Todd did give you a great running car...then you tuned.

If there were machine shop problems. Just get over it...you dont have the car anymore.......

You are becoming stalker-ish. Just a bad penny now. I dont know why you stay quite honestly. Seems you have a degrade todd anywhere on the net thing going on....

Its ugly so please. Stop this.....its petty now.

You sir are not doing the forum any favors. What use is it for you to post inside this thread 10 days after Duke's last post. You're one of the individuals that continues to stir the pot.
