The allen key doesn't fit in the door motors. You have to use the wacky contraption of plastic thing with screw, special long piece with small allen key and spark plug wrench to use that.

Oh boy what a nightmare that would be if I were sinking in water, get the tools together and try to crank the window down, well now I know I'll just undo the sunroof thanks Chris. ;)

The function of the tool isn't to roll the window down in an emergency. That's what the "Life Hammer" is for. This is more likely for rolling your window up when you see that storm cloud coming with the angry face:

Grumpy old men for the win. Lol. I think I was a grumpy old man in another life.

This is an awesome thread. (like C.R. said, for people who have nothing left to do on their e28 and/or too much time on their hands) It would be even more awesome if all the pictures worked. Can that be fixed for us "Young BMW Detail Fanatics"?

Thanks.

The OP may have deleted, moved or renamed the pix. E-mail or PM him to see if he still has them.

You won't get in touch with him. He sold me a radio off eBay that was 100% working/tested, but has no fuse. I tried to ask what fuse it takes, but no dice. That was last year.

This is exactly why I created the uploader.

Keeps the pics intact.. Photobucket deletes them after a period of time.

Total FAQ fail.
