I took BBShiftless on a small trip downtown to get some stuff and to get some summer air for the tires. Between CVS and the Shell to air up, the LCL lit . DOH. In typical fashion, I drove home without drama. I opened the hood and there is coolant everywhere. I'm getting a little wound up. Until I wiggled the hose to the radiator. It was loose on the thermostat end. I let it cool down, then I redid the connection . I also tightened a loose bracket bolt. I also ground down a piece of 1 1/2 ID conduit and drove into the remains of the Boysen muffler I bought from Rexmo so long ago. I now have enough of a tail pipe to attach chrome tips to. I took another drive just long enough to see if the fix took, So far, so good. :D

I took BBShiftless on an 80 mile drive this PM. The front end shimmies going over bumps . I'm thinking the 26 yr old Boge hydraulics have expired , maybe the LCAs BJs , TREs,and UCA bushings . Time to try Paul's bushings. The ABS lamp is lit. That isnt a high priority. But I'm gonna crawl under the front end soon and do some shaking.

My 75K mile engine re-fresh took well. Cool runnings in heavy traffic, no warning lights lit. The engine is strong as usual. I will check the valves after the first killing frost when the mosquitoes aren't so bad.

I opened the doors to let it air out. It's been cooking in the sun for weeks and the black interior was getting a little sweaty.

Installed new clutch master & slave using the syringe method I learned from reading this forum. Flavor injector was my syringe of choice, only one I could find at BedBath & B.....

Made a small mess on my driveway but had fun trying a new method.

I took the 535is for a bit of a spirited dive down old Illinois 2. First time I have done that in a while. The road isn't the most exciting one out there, but the sun was setting, rolling countryside, windows down, and all the right tunes playing on the ipod. We are all so lucky to have such an amazing car.

Completely flushed the cooling system and put new 'stat & WaterWetter in to combat overheating only to find that a loose ground strap on the right motor mount was causing the issue with the temp gauge reading properly and the subsequent lack of battery charging :brick:
I was fashioning heat shields for the B35 manifold & down-tubes and must've loosened the strap.

On the bright side, the stock Bilstein comfort insert & spring up front totally balances the HD shock & E34 spring in back - over bumps and such the whole car reacts as one. No more 'hobby horse' rocking between front & rear.

I got her a new radiator since the old one was well beyond its years (2).

Also had the rear calipers rebuilt and added new rotors, pads, and hoses.

Day off fun: Roth Bracket 4.1 for clutch pedal, and installed extra brake light Kit and HO bulbs. Then slapped in Ciebe front, flat lens low and high beam with Pee beam film on highs-Libby helped with the cleanup:

Now enjoying a firm clutch pedal, and great night visibilty- Thanks Dave ( bracket) and Andy (lights) for great products and service.

Today, I troubleshot my ABS system with the help of a friend, passenger with a multimeter, a flashlight, and a computer(with wiring diagram/notepad. Debating whether to attempt a sensor swap and potentially have another connector crumble or just buy a new one and try to do a high quality splice.
