Lubed squeaks in the steering wheel, gas pedal and brake pedal. Loosened up the door lock. Fixed the cruise control.

Oil change. Went with liquimoly 20W50 mineral race oil mos2, will be interesting to see how it holds up. It's already quietened it down a noticeable amount, but I'm yet to have driven it as I need another litre to top it since draining the oil cooler. With consumption of zero in 10,000 ks with the previous oil, it'll be interesting to see how the moly performs.

Sooooo close to painting. Hopefully I will add some spray pictures Tuesday hopefully...

I use the GT1 10w60 in the M5 and had a noticable reduction in oil consumption in the S62. Good stuff.

I pulled the alternator to replace the rubber bushings with some poly ones, like I did on my 6er some years ago...and then discovered the E28's alternator doesn't HAVE any bushings. The mounting bolts pass directly through the alternator body. Evidently this was an engineering change made sometime between the 1985 and 1987 model years.

Oh well; I changed the voltage regulator (which I knew it needed anyway) and put it back together.

You must have an '87 build '87. They went to the solid mount alternators which work pretty well.

Build date was 9/86. I think they were making a lot of changes about that time.

I drove it to work, but yesterday I changed it's oil & filter with
Valvoline Racing 20/50 & Filter from the Stealer.

I got enough done at the new place Sunday to move it from the side yard to the garage.
It's so filthy that I feel guilty moving it without a bath though.

It was finally above freezing yesterday, so I cracked open the garage door to see what mine still looked like.

I ended my car's 9 month stay in the garage, with a valve adjustment...now all i hear are the injectors ticking, and I have my POS '88 528e daily driver back!!!

Amsoil 15w-40 diesel formula w/lots of zinc & back to the E34 525/530/535 brakes w/ Mintex pads for the street.

Yesterday was new plugs and fresh injectors. Today was oil change.

What an incredible difference! Why did I wait so long to do my injectors?

Yeah but I saw her Saturday when we stabbed the 350 back into his Tahoe.

I am prepping for putting 100k engine in place of 300k engine that had timing chain failure. Getting list of parts together. 1987 535is Hope to have ready for Vintage at Old Salem NC end of May.

Found an operable dash vent at the yard today (I don't know why, but that was really exciting), replaced the front passenger door seal, replaced b pillar trim on the driver's side and put in a lit sunroof switch.

I brought the M5 back to life after a hard winter slumber. It was dry out, so I moved it to the storage unit in prep for a new upcoming e28 project at the house. When I got back home there was a rather large spot of coolant on the driveway. I can't wait to see what popped over the winter...

New Shoes for the 533i

Replaced the yellowed expansion tank, so when I do get around to showing pics of this 88 is, my dirty engine bay won't look so dirty with a new expansion tank.
next up: buy a freon leak detector & find the missing R12 I put in from last year I bet it's up around the ozone layer.

Then I'll find the leak & fix that too.

Getting closer! Still need a few pieces.

Had a good time with those guys and took delivery of my euro front bumper. It is shadowlined, but diamontschwarz I believe.

The day after St. Paddy's, we noticed a gas smell from the M5. It turned out to be fuel supply hose at the hose clamp on the injector rail. Today I removed it, trimmed off the damaged part of the hose and reattached everything. About 5 minutes later I remembered that I actually have the correct replacement hose (13 31 1 722 565) with the Hofmeister kink in it so I'll be doing it again tomorrow.

i replaced the rear sub frame bushings. fixed a rattle coming from the exhaust heat shield and replaced a broken b pillar

I like that knob painted. I just got one for my e30 and that brushed aluminium just looks out of place.
