Yes. When I bought the car in 2007 from 'alpinass' it had a reproduction Hartge front spoiler. I've added a few more bits along the way.

I am disgusted at how sick this build is. Nice work.

It looks amazing in the engine bay. I'm wondering if you can post some pictures of how the intercooler is routed

How do we all feel about the relocation of the brake fluid reservoir to the left-front? It was my (relatively un-educated) opinion that this is dangerous. A hit there will will result in loss of brakes.

Well, that's brake fluid, actually, and it won't result in a loss of brakes if there is still full fluid between the master and the calipers. A fire is possible, but a fire is always possible.

Curious are you running the stock mechanical fan, It doesnt seem like it with the thick radiator. On a side not i noticed a five degree drop in temp when running the stock shroud that goes from the core support to the radiator. I run the stock cooling system with a south african radiator in arizona and barely keep the temps at 195. Im just curious to see if the thick radiator with no mechanical fan but a pusher fan will outperform the stock cooling.

Found the intercooler part. Now also curious in the cooling without shroud and fan

I found that running the shroud brought my temps down about 5 degrees, but still my turbo struggles to run at 195 in the az summer. This is with all new stock cooling components with a south african radiator. While that radiator is thick, im curious if it will have enough of a pressure difference across it to beat the stock setup.

If he keeps the brake bomb in place (I can't recall if he removed it), it would seem he should have power brakes for a good 10-20 emergency stops before the loss of fluid matters.

The brake bomb works on ATF, not brake fluid.

As Chris said earlier, all that really matters is if there's still fluid in the lines between calipers and master cylinder. The accumulator (bomb) provides a pressure reserve for the power assist, not fluid. If you get hit hard enough to take out the reservoir, it's unlikely that you'll need brakes tough. The car will be on a flatbed.

yup, no excuse that car is already built from the dealer you don't even have to do shit to it.
we want to see a well built machine that is the e28 not a new gen. plastic throw away bmw.

Alright, alright! I had to get the E92 as a transition from Jeeps and a Denali to a boosted E28.

Update: Finished modifying the M5 engine harness to the aftermarket sensors. Added an ARC fuse panel. Still some issues with the E24 fuse box swap. Seems the diagram I was using isn't entirely correct. Pulled the car onto a flat bed a week ago and has been at Turbo Lab getting sorted and a base tune to break in the motor. Funny how much smaller the E28 feels than the E92. Even with all the extra crap on the E28 it's still ~300 lbs lighter than the newer car.

Need a wiring harness to complete this project. Have a modified M5 engine wiring harness and an E24 fuse box. During the conversion from the OE torpedo fuse box I failed to scratch out several circuits on the board. Hooked everything up and had a melt down. Rather than trace through and repair the wiring it would be much easier to replace the fuse box to dash wiring harness.

Can anyone confirm the part number of the harness in question? Or, does anyone have a used harness they'd be willing to sell?

Main wiring harness

No. Description Supp. Qty From Up To Part Number Price Notes
01 Wiring harness, front section 1 09/1985 61111380250 $308.49 ENDED
02 Cable harness sector ctr. 1 09/1985 61111380206 $603.06 ENDED
03 Cable harness sector rear 1 09/1985 61111375788 $558.92 ENDED

If you haven't already, put a post in the FS forum. There's a few people that still either have parts cars or part them out. Hopefully they can get you taken care of. That is going to be a less-than-fun job. Just make sure you get a harness later than 9/85.

Good call Chris. Which circuits in this harness are different in the pre-9/85 models?

Any idea which part number I need? There's may be a chance there's one out there though listed NLA.

Thanks

Is the harness in question ///M specific?

Re: GOD'S VENGEANCE - Complete Drivetrain Redux

by Murfinator
No. The harness is not 'M' specific. The engine wiring harness is from an 'M' and was customized by AEM for their ECU. The harness I need would be from a post-9/85 M30 equipped E28 extending from at least the fuse box back to the drivers firewall or the battery to the cluster even.

Thanks. With the OE parts NLA and no one making an aftermarket kit I'm in need of a 9/85+ harness, not 'M' specific but extending from the fuse box through the firewall (see photo above).
