Mine doesn't have "Sport mode", what's up with that?

Put the stick in 3 instead of D. Sport mode. I only use D on the freeway.

Replaced front and rear pads/rotors on the eta, found out the center bearing is toast and it needs another set of tie rods after only 30k.

I'm an idiot, sometimes... and that's only after a small glass of wine.

Mine has a selector next to the shifter;
A
--
M
Guessing that's the mode selector, but without a manual, it'll take some learning time.

Just found out yesterday that the rear window can be opened without opening the complete rear hatch.

What else is there?

Fixed aux fan. Thanks to mye28 for the link to an ETM!!!!! New relay and high speed now works. Low speed resistor dead, so bypassed it. Fan will only run on high, but better than no fan at all. Right?

If you set it to M it will hold whatever gear you select without up or downshifting. If you shift to 3 or 2 without selecting manual, it will up and downshift in sport mode.

Heated seats are great.

1) Fixed my binary heat problem. The plastic vacuum line from the manifold to the interior temp sensor had a crappy connection at the manifold. Replaced the little bit of disintegrating rubber vacuum line, and I am back to adjustable heat for zero $$ (had been thinking about rebuilding the heater control valve, so I'm stoked).

2) Fussed around with my warm idle problem. No definitive progress.

Oh well, one victory makes it a day in the plus column!

Swapped in a new bulb housing in the tail light. Proceeded to scrape off the black tape the previous owner put over the check light on the dash because he couldn't figure out the brake light issue.

If it were me, I'd be doing    , but for a pro like you, I guess one exclamation mark will suffice.

Baby steps for the newbie over the past week. Did an oil/filter change, final drive fluid change, replaced the green coolant with the stock blue coolant after a flush, replaced a few old hoses, reconnected a few things that had come undone, and replaced a jacked up accelorator cable. Still trying to get some tired arse purple tint off...almost there! I have not turned a wrench in a long time, and my past experience was minimal at best. The Bentley is a great item for sure, but I find the small pieces of information that make things easy to understand from this site...so thanks. Hopefully I can contribute something of substance to it one day as well. I am having fun so I guess that is what it's all about. Sorry...that went way long.

Registered it with the state of Arizona, passing smog with flying colors:
Hydrocarbons: 0.53 out of 2.4
CO: 7.73 out of 20
NOX: 1.91 out of 3.5

When I was getting back in the car the tech asked me "Did you know your speedometer don't work?" Really dude? Hadn't noticed...

Spent Saturday and Sunday detailing for next weeks' St. Paddy's Day Meet in San Diego. Also tidied-up a few interior items.

Thank you whomever invented the EZ-up canopies; working on the car out of the direct sun is never an issue anymore.

Pulled plenum and intake horns to gain access to remove starter and begin replacing hoses fron the kit I bought from Pelican back in September. Sprayed P21s cleaner on the dirties parts and scrubbed. Weather turned ugly, so that's probably it for this weekend.

Lights

Post by e28Sean »

Cleaned the 20 odd years of crud out of my rear number plate lights. Took all of 5 minutes, but worth the effort.

The to-do list on this car is getting smaller every day, and is mostly little things. :)

I just salvaged a 7 speaker pioneer system from a Lexus at the yard. I'm a cheap bastard, but I can't stand the 26 year old speakers anymore; 4 satellite speakers, 2 tweeters and a sub should be a substantial improvement. Plus the whole thing only cost me like $25 :D
