Ordered new thrust arms and trailing arm mount bushings. Decided to give another retailer a try. I usually order my parts from AutohausAZ with no problems, but I thought I'd give RMEuropean a try. They were cheaper by quite a bit on Lemfoerder.

At least two if not three of my cars need trailing arm bushings. Shop time 10 hours. They can't be done in the car... sigh.

I figure I'll be pretty good at it by the time I'm done.

I started the ///M5 for the first time since December. Holy valve tick Batman! It went away after 15 secs but I was concerned!

I usually run him once a month but this year got away from me.

Next time you start it, pop the valve cover off and pour a little oil on the important bits.

Yeah good point. A valve adjustment may be in order now. That's never happened before.

I thought you just did a valve adjustment last year? You don't need to do them that frequently. If it went away after 15 seconds, I'd say that's not much more than the symptoms of a dry start, 15 seconds is a bit of an eternity, though. Is your oil pump healthy?

That oil light goes off really quick. 1-3 secs usually. Went off in 1-2 this time. That's a really healthy one. Its also why the 4-7 sec delay on the 735i freaked me out at first.

Put a deposit down on it. Hope to have it in my possession in April. Until then, anticipation is the byword.

I really can't blame you- no one except a few key confidants knew about my ///M5 purchase until it happened.

Sweet, I missed it entirely. Now for the $64 question, will Dave be trying to import it back to the US when his tour of duty ends. Whenever it ends. Assuming everything falls into place.

Stop pussy footin around and get the pressure washer in there!!

I used to go to one of those do-it-yourself car wash places and use that every other month or so just to keep things at bay. Using common sense about what and what not to blast away on and you're fine.
I haven't had the balls to do it with the e39 yet though ;)
