Finally changed my front sway bar links to new Meyle HD. I have been living with an annoying screech whenever I turn the wheels at low speed for about a year and a half. I changed nearly all my front suspension components over a year ago and although the handling improved the noise remained. I finally took the time to actually diagnose the noise about a week ago and found that although the original 30 year old links were intact the joints were semi frozen. I tried spraying PB blast inside small holes I made in the boots but to no avail so I ordered new links.

I wish I had done this sooner. The sweet sound of silence.

I tried pawning the whole thing off and couldn't.

Fear not though, at least five other e28s will go on to live as a result of a maniac with a sawzal.

Worthy. A good death.

How do they feel? Put new rotors and pads in and they look so much better through the rims than the old rusty shit that was in there before. Still braking them in so no real word on performance just yet (see what I did there)

Too bad they're not selling the polished ones anymore. The red looks nice though.

Walked past it in the garage, remembered it was there, cast a longing glance and kept walking.

What I didn't do to my E28 this weekend: install used injectors ordered from a forum member.

Will wait for 1 more week before bitching openly to the forum about seller, but at this point I don't have a good feeling. I've sent 2 PM's to seller asking about receipt of my postal money order and asking about status of injectors, with no response. PM's were read, and seller has been posting on the forum in the meantime. Will send one more PM this week. Saturday, 11 June will be exactly 4 weeks since I mailed this guy a $50 money order.

ETA: At least I got to go fishing this weekend. That's always a good thing.
ETA: I got 'em after a gentle reminder. Thank You.

The last 528e, Marina's former driver, has always been a bit doggy. Its history showed a period of little use for 13 yrs. The wasted battery box backs up the sitting too. I much preferred the refreshed B6II to it and its factory original parts. old and tired parts . The Car has 155k and 29 yrs on its struts. When I refreshed the front brakes this spring, I noticed that the spring perches are turning to dust. #2 Son borrowed the car. It stalled in the driveway and wouldn't start without spinning a few fuses and R+Ring the Main and fuel pump relays And , Lo! It lit. You gotta phone> Yah. OK. watch the pot holes.

Unlike earlier 528es of mine. This sucker is/ was factory. Parts being together for 29 yrs dont like coming apart. R+Ring front end parts was a PITA. Did they use blue loctite or something when assembling ?
I have several pieces parts to choose from in my parts stash. Is there a simple process to test a set of "corners" ? Or shall I keep winging it as I usually do.

Finally, added the Racing Dynamics strut bar to the 525i. Took a lesson form the SoCal boys and powder coated it to make sooooo pretty.

Is it a 525i still if it has an M30 in it?

You are right (as usual). I don't know why I even try anymore. The 525i came with an M30B25. Don't know what I was thinking (or even if I was).

Niiiice! I've got the same, although, mine could use a bit of a shine-up. Your engine bay is far too clean.

Washed both the e28 and the not-a-bimmer, then took the e28 for a spirited drive to dry it off. It's a beautiful day for a pointless backroad bombing.

Brown Truck of Happiness delivered a brand new Bosch coil for the 87 535i. Made in Brazil :rotz: Damn "globalization". Oh well.

Installed it. Car fired up right away, but I did drive it to my appointment at the VA hospital this morning.

Now I have to wait and see if I've actually cured anything by replacing the M10 coil that was in there.

Certainly couldn't hurt, having the proper coil in there, and at least I've eliminated a potential source of the hard start/rough running problem.

It is not what I did to my 528e
It is what I have been thinking to do to her since I brought her home in 12/1987

Poor thing....she has been better to me than I to her

But then again that is what E28's are all about.

tthe best I have done for her are the only 191000 miles on the odometer.

Will soon be asking for serious advice....mostly cosmetic.

Yo
