Raised the rear sunshade! Temps near 80 degrees in the forecast for the next few days.
It's almost time to start the prep for V@V and bolt on the summer wheels.

found a present from PO when changing brake fluid.. two round brake bleeder screws.. totally stripped. the only marks on them are from the pliers that they used to tighten em to holy bejeezus levels.

replaced 2.93 diff with 4.10 lsd

replaced guibo and center bearing,

painted valve cover hemi orange!

and replaced intake manifold gaskets, bought some

went to the store sideways for once, and did some doughnuts along the way just to get it out of my system.

i have decided that im going to continue to build the car to an NA drift machine

Just curious as to what engine you have in the car?
That is one serious torque upgrade or downgrade depending upon the driver.

Started up the red one. No exhaust.

WHAT? A differential does not upgrade or downgrade torque. Of course, perhaps you're talking about "perceived torque."

Spent another 5 hours sanding wheels, hardware soaking in vinigar.

installed garmin nuvi and hid the power wire in the dash.

FINALLY, finished cleaning the bottom of the car! Incredibly messy and irritating job but ,Wow! It looks great and now I can work on the suspension, drive line, brakes, etc and not be filthy.

I do believe I'm going to make my first "Eye Candy" post, of the undercarriage of my car. How weird is that?

Took out the steering column and replaced the pedal bracket along with the MC. Almost have it back together.

Took her for a romp around the back roads. First time I've ever done some spirited driving in it and I have a whole newfound appreciation for the car. Simply a joy to toss around, which is considerable for (what was) an executive luxury car.

That is why mine is nicknamed the "Execuitve Hair Metal Chairiot".

Took half my car apart trying to find a fuse 5 short. I can't find it.

I'll tell you later if it works.

Its an m20b27 or eta, with dinan chip. The 4.10 came out of an 87 325is and was supposed to be a 3.73, but it was missing the tag and I didn't bother checking the ratio till I was ready to install it. Made a huge diffrence though...huge! Although I have all but lost first gear, it literally leaps off the line in second and I have et'ed it yet but my 0-60 time has been aggresively altered to omg quick. 65 on the freeway at 3000 rpm and gear out speed is right at 100mph
Honestly since I'm not a fly through traffic guy and more of a leave you at the light guy. I'm glad it was a 4.10 although I would recomend the 3.73 or 3.46 lsd for a more practical use, since my mpg on the highway has dropped from 30mpg at 65mph to 25mpg at 65mph

Ordered a boatload of parts for it (and the 735i) today. Hit my anniversary date at work last week, and had a few days' worth of unused vacation time left over, so had a nice bonus check on payday!

Clutch job, T-belt, & valve adjust is but weeks away! Anybody up for a wrenchfest in Sioux Falls, South Dakota?

Washed it!

Installing the newly painted rear "is" spoiler this afternoon & winding up the trunk lid springs to hold the extra weight.

Replaced my rusty sunroof, will take it apart again to get it painted white,its black right now with no rust.

More sanding of the wheels. What did I get myself into?

Backed the beater up so that I could drive the E30.
Hasn't driven in oh... 8 MONTHS.

Washed it,
and took it for a short drive,
filled it up with gas,
brought it home and parked it.

New chrome lockstrips today. Helluva difference. And yes, after a couple of good margaritas a heavy gauge paper clip is a perfectly reasonable install tool. Warm seals help too.

Washed it and waxed it. (First time - bought it a week ago today). Put on the sunroof air deflector. Drove it to do some errands. Checked to make sure it will clear the ramps for an oil change soon. Parked it.

Started stripping the front down for bodywork...

Unless you have a front spoiler, you should be able to reach the drain plug and do a change with the car on the ground. With spoiler, it helps to drive up onto a 2x6" or something wider to gain better access.

Replaced the radiator, upper and lower hoses, water pump, fan clutch, thermostat, cap, rotor, wires, plugs, oil & filter, air filter, and adjusted AFM arm.

Tomorrow I'll be repalcing the driveshaft, center bearing, O2 sensor... Maybe more....

Drove to the beach and back from Rivertown USA... Drove highway 53. anyone who travels to the Oregon coast should take the 20 mile drive down one of the finest back road highways in the state!! Go Blazers!!

With the right extension you can do it with the wheels turned at just about any height. I've done it with my car on the ground, and I'm considerably lower than most E28s.

Today I went back to red door panels. I'm starting to suspect that my door panels are actually Taurus, because they're much darker than all of the pictures of Cardinal that I've seen. Dunno, maybe it's wishful thinking, haha.

all new headlights and relays to go with. 90/100w and 55w highs with cities on the high lows, h4 and h1's.
