I vote for mystic blue or LeMans blue with sand/beige interior.

I saw an Avus Blue 524td and IMMEDIATELY fell in love with the color. It's not a factory e28 paint color I don't think but it's a factory color option of plenty of other bmws. Henna would look terrible on an e28. I vote Avus Blue

Edit: the factory color code is Avusblau 276 I think

Estoril Blue is very good looking, too. With a tan (Modena) interior:

There's also Morocco Brown (Oem X3 color):

Just food for thought :) Henna is awesome but too similar to Vlad's color.

Love the opinions on color.

But know I'm already 99% sure what color the car will be. I'll let y'all know once I'm 100% sure, which should be after a little test I have to do, probably in March.

Please say this "test" won't end up in a Pride Flag colored hot-rod. . .

My vote goes here. If it weren't an E36 I'd go giggity over that one.

I love Estoril, but not on an E28. Avus could certainly work.

I always wondered what happened to that car.

:(

Did some more research and I guess it's gone for good. I guess that leaves me with the most-visible US E12. I'm having a sad.

Not to derail the thread, but how on earth does one end up like that last orange car from the pics in the first fives article?!?   :(

It's missing a donkey on the roof but otherwise, that e12 is just perfect. I guess I'm just 2 ossum

I like Henna just fine. I had a Henna E30 M3. Cops loved it. One of the most attractive E28's I ever saw was a a Henna Alpina B9. All that said, I do think it would not compliment the red car as a garage mate. In terms of a period color, Polaris is great and does not show dirt if you are really going to DD this car.
I had an Avus E34 M5 for a while. It is a fascinating color. Seems to change color depending on the light. Another interesting, more modern, BMW color is Carbon Black. My Brother had an E39 M5 in that color and in bright light it almost looks blue. Good luck...many cool choices.

See Avus is winning. It's such a nice color. Soft on the eyes but it catches them too. It's very unique on e28s

If the car is going to be perfect then the logical choice in my mind is black.

It's the black primer, I think. Clean and polished Avusblau on a sunny day is amazing.
