Nope, no issues here!
Except on the drives! :haul:
I'll keep a gps handy. Because I will NOT be able to keep up. Damnit, that is the only downside with my car, it's slow as shit.

Maybe I'll drive our 525iTA up and you'll have a partner back there, at least when we take off.

For the record, last week I finally learned my little mishap was due to a blowout & not driver error. ;) :haul:

Inside tire rack wore thin due to excessive neg camber. That grippy road & hard playing made it near bald as Colonel Dickens.

Just had to bow out of the Vintage this year and came across this get together. Sounds like a good time. I will try to get reservations made this week or next. Looking forward to meeting more BMW nuts.

Haven't finalized things yet. I'm trying to see if I can juggle this with 2 other events. Might be a game time decision.

\edit
And my car needs to be back together by then. :bawl:

Should be a good time, glad to hear there is much more interest from people out of state. It would likely be a wise idea to get room reserved sooner rather than later.

If I think my new 535is beater can make it I'll be there....it'll be a great opportunity for the "before" pix...and it will also be great to hook up with fellow Colorado enthusiasts. Yes.

Latest update:

We are looking into getting T-shirts printed!

Here is the front Graphic we will be using for the front breast.

Here is a rough estimate. Pricing will likely be in the $15-$20 range:

Hey Tom,

Shirt looks good. It might be cool to mock the BMW grill badge font for some of the lettering.

Are you bringing your E28 or your E24?

Is there a coarse event schedule in the works? I'm particularly curious about the route for "the drive". Same as last year or different?

Robert

Robert,
I am still on the fence about which car to bring. I have been discussing with my dad about buying his E28 M5, so it is possible I could bring that if I can clean it up and get stuff sorted out with him!

I will have to talk to Neel about the drive. He was thinking about heading down to the gambling/casino town of Ignacio. I have never been there, but it is South of Pagosa. Do you have any ideas/preferences. I was thinking 60 miles out would be about the furthest people wanted to go for the mountain drive after just driving down there.

Are you talking about the text from the BMW CCA grille badge-- and on the front, or the rear? You can PM me if you want.

I'll actually be missing the E24 if you don't bring it since it's pretty much E12 under the hood. Are there any other E12s on the roster? Sounds like Sherman is back to "maybe".
No measurable event buzz on First Fives. I did put in a post on it yesterday.

I guess I'd prefer another mountain drive to somewhere with a good view - not sure how distances factor in.

Sorry, I meant the trunk badge font, i.e. "530i", on the lettering suggestion.

Good idea-- I'll see what I can do about that font!
I am torn between the two, and am waiting for the M5 body work/paint to be done, so we will see how it all turns out when we get closer.
I can try to get a rough schedule put together this week and I'll let you know.

Getting close to the wire on this... I'm not sure if my car will be done, but I'm gunning for it & trying to talk a few others in to coming down. Will see how things go with the car this week.

For everybody interested in a bit more information of scheduling/planning. At this moment, we are still ironing out the schedule completely, but I can give you a basic rundown of planned events.

We wanted to start an event that was for BMW enthusiasts to have a great getaway without the need for being a BMW club member (fees and such). So anybody and everybody is welcome. The plan is for people to arrive Friday, depending on where everybody is coming from.

Settle in to rooms, relax a bit after the drive, maybe grab a bite to eat, or meet up with some other people. There is a swimming pool and hottub available also. Likely Neel, the hotel owner, will allow us to hang out in his bar to have drinks and meet and greet. I need to get with him about maybe having some snacks or food.

Friday
~6:00pm meet/greet at the bar. Maybe get Neel to have some sort of food option

~8:30pm Head over to the Pagosa Springs Brewery as a group. Eat food, maybe take the tour??

Saturday we will likely do a mountain drive, we have to iron out the location, but he was talking about the gambling town of Ignacio potentially. There is also hiking, and the continental Divide/Wolf Creek Pass. In the afternoon, we are looking at a Forced Induction talk (by Ken Hawkins who has the 700hp E28 M5), along with a car show/ BBQ. This leads us into the evening, and we will likely do the BMW Moviefest like we did last year (in the bar). Of course Neel will allow us to watch this on his 64" flat screen, and people can mingle etc.

Saturday:
~10:00am Leave for mountain drive, go to Ignacio, Continental Divide, or some place

~4:30pm Ken Hawkins FI discussion

~5:30pm BBQ/ CarShow. Hang out, eat, mingle

~8:00pm BMW Moviefest with The Hire and the La Carrera Classic and more.

Sunday
~9:00am Head over to the hot springs. Not sure if as a group or not *Could also be done on Friday after the drive*

~12:00pm Checkout/leave

In the meantime if some of these things don't sound appealing, you or your family can go to the Pagosa Hotsprings or other activities, as outlined in the thread above.

Shirts are going to be printed this year, so I will have those for sale, it should be a good time! Looking at about 40 going to be available.

Definitely feel free to invite your friends! Hope to meet some of you there :)
