I'm ready and looking forward to it. Hoping to hit several events, immerse myself in automotive eye candy, and hope to meet up with some of y'all along the way. All of your car prep updates make me feel a little guilty as I am cheating by flying in and won't be bringing a car - totally playing spectator.

Maybe I can help by carrying the concours trophy hardware to the cars for you guys??

Jim, don't feel bad. You're not the only one doing nothing.

1983. Exhaust was on a Euro 6er. I was shocked. I had also pulled the tips I recently installed on the B7. I severely damaged them during installation since they ended up being too small.

To my SoCal brothers, if you need a pit stop for repairs, caffeine, beer or last minute detailing please feel free to contact me. I have an open garage policy. My house is right off the 101, less than a mile. Safe travels next week.

Looking forward to some clam chowder with you guys in Morro Bay on the 13th.

That's very kind of you to offer, god willing we won't have to take you up on it.

Me too. I was doing some Yelping and in addition to that Rusty Barnacle place we went last year, The Frying Dutchman and the Bearded Clam both got good reviews too.

Jim, your M535i is so clean, I'm hopping it will rub off a bit on my M5 when you come within a certain radius.

I think I'm going to purposely drive back to Colorado via the south route through Bakersfield just so I can grab a clam chowder bread bowl at Splash Cafe.

I'm still homeless for Monday-Saturday... before I book a campground with my tent, anybody have a place I could crash?

Let me set the records straight. I'm not out I'm just pissed. This radiator is 2 years old and has fewer than 3,000 miles on it. The pos cracked where the tank meets the bracket. This is the second radiator in 2 years. AND it is an oem radiator. Poop.

I'm jealous, that's better than I'm doing with M5 radiators. I should have got in on the aluminum group buy when I had the chance. :(

Where did you source that radiator from? Long ago, I had similar experiences with a distributor in your area (of both OEM and Non-OEM parts).

Looks like you guys need to start getting your road trip spare-parts-pool going. Just throw everything into a trailer and decide who's going to tow it.

Mesa Performance. They ordered an OEM radiator which I installed. It failed right away at the same spot. They replaced it with another OEM which is what is in the car now. This one lasted 26 months, just enough to be out of warranty.

Yep. It's hard to blame a distributor for parts that come from someplace else. BUT, that's what happened to me with an AFM, O2 sensors, and other various bits. Have you ever noticed the well-worn packaging many of the parts arrive in? I don't know where he gets them.

The material quality on the Behr units must be shit these days. The original rads last for decades...

I don't think it has anything to do with where I purchased the radiator. As I recall both came in a nice box and both cracked at the exact same place. It's too much of a coincidence that it would have anything to do with anything other than manufacturer defect.

That's good fodder for a poison pen letter to Behr. Go for it.

Thanks for the suggestion John. I did email Behr if anything I feel better for venting. I'm not a pessimist; but I don't think that I will get anything out of this other than an apology email, if that.

So I went and bought another radiator from Mesa, Jim ordered it yesterday from WorlPac and it arrived in a nice box. Let's just hope there's a nice WORKING UNBROKEN radiator in there.

I got my Festorics packet today. Not only does the shirt not completely suck for a change, it even has an e28 on it. Too bad it's unwearable because they still put the print on the goddamn fucking FRONT.

So what's the deal with the Oktoberfest stuff? Is it mailed separately? Do we even know where it's being held yet? :?

Hmm, I got a nice polo shirt. Didn't you get a key chain and hat with yours?

I opened it up and could have sworn I was looking at the back of the shirt. Then, I thought they forgot to print the front. Then I wondered why they put the back on the front. Then I realized they made a crappy shirt.

Mike, you have to pay extra for the polo and the hat. No way in hell would I spend that much money on a polo shirt that doesn't have a horse on it. Hell, I don't even own a polo shirt with the horse on it. Target FTW.

No idea. You'd think that since the same guy seemed to be doing everything, that for the $18.00 I had to pay for a week of ground shipping basically nothing, they could have put it all in one envelope. I've shipped brake rotors in less time for less money.

You paid $18.00 to ship stuff? I don't remember paying anything for shipping. I also don't remember our conversation from last night.
