Hi,
I am new on this list; I live in the XK jag world.
First;
Steve Haygood is spectacular asset.
Any car group would be fortunate to have someone like Steve.
Second:
I think three categories for e28 cars is useful.
particularly for e28s that don't justify expensive restoration.
I am selling my 533 and the three audience don't synch up:
Category One:
Its a parts car; you could get it running; but better for parts.
Category Two:
Its a daily driver; runs fine and won't upset the neighbors.
Category Three;
Its a restoration project; only for the concours and Qtip folks.
Thanks.

I ordered some of Kendogg's leftovers. The price was right. Shipped the next day, arrived having been packed well.
Couldn't have asked for anything more.
Kendogg: Good!

I have had good transactions with the following folks:
TCD (shift knob, springs via another guy)
Duke (misc parts)
TC in Germany
Ely Wineman (flywheel/clutch)
Keith F
TT (intake manifold)
Steve Haygood (frequently) and Brian da Parts Pimp (less frequently, but often enough :-)
Daryl Naskale
I'm probably forgetting some folks.

Let's pat ourselves on our collective backs and admit that we have a great bunch of folks on this board who are great to do business with. Probably because we all love these cars and respect each other for the mutual feelings for the cars. The problems start when someone without that respect sneaks into our midst.
I've had people front me parts and say send me a check and I've sent parts and not been paid. The latest to do this is Tim Collins in Atlanta. I sent him a euro headlight frame to replace one that was mangled, but he won't pay. I'm sorry I missed the chance to take it off him at 5er Fest '05. Actually, 1 jerk-off out of all the rest of this board isn't bad odds.
Thanks to all the rest.
Steve Haygood, DPP, Rex, graphite, Devinder, Brad...etc.
BTW, NE1 need a 3.25LSD?

Yellow2 sent a trim piece that got destroyed/spindled/mutilated and lost by the USPS (however, the USPS DID include a "we're wicked sorry we're such idiots" note). I sent him pics of the destroyed package and he sent another trim piece no questions asked. Honest seller with integrity.
TheGreenHornet sold me an ECU w/Dinan Chip for a great price, and shipped it in record time with more than adequate protective packaging.
I highly recommend both Alex and Mike. Thanks, Guys!

MannyLove is a standup guy who bought a set of struts/shocks from me. He met me where and when he said he would accomodating my schedule and paid for the items in cash.
Matt Caulder sent the check he said he would for the speakers I sent him.
Lexingtom paid quickly for both items I sent him and and I have no complaints about any portion of the transaction.
Thanks to all of you for being forthright.
Andrew.

Spotted an ad on Roadfly for euro bumper pieces. I bought them, received them yesterday, and sent this message to Rodd Sidney (I have not yet heard a response from this seller):
+++++
Having removed the pieces from a very poorly packaged box (one of the longer
pieces had pierced through the side of the box; the tape on the top was
almost completely detached from the box, etc.), I must say, I am very
unimpressed with what you sent. If these pieces are "BRAND NEW BMW" ... then they're NOT BRAND NEW ENOUGH! The chrome surfaces of the top
sections of some of the pieces are marred and scratched. I tried polishing
them out with Mother's Chrome Polish--no go.
Obviously, these pieces WERE ONCE brand new, but have been stored for a
considerable period of time, given the degree of grime (hardly a "little
dust," as you indicated) that's collected on their surface. During that
period, they have been allowed to be scraped. I'm left with sub-par bumper
pieces that will not match the new dealer pieces that I have ordered.
Needless to say, you won't be getting any more business from me. Neither
will you get a good recommendation. And I'm left with the unhappy prospect
of having to rechrome "new" bumper pieces or to dump them at a loss on ebay.

535IStyle5s (in Dallas, TX) is, in my experience, someone who should be avoided. We had a deal, confirmed by email and verbally that he backed out on at the last second, and nearly two weeks later has yet to return my $3500 check. Watch out !

Uri Camens (Uri in Charleston - board name) is the snuff - sold him my 3.5 M30; he waited a month for my schedule to open up then came over with a hoist and helped me pull it! Needless to say, he gets some freebies (3.25 diff and a brake bomb) and beer any time he wants one! Class act.

Big E Dogg hooked me up last weekend. I bought an instrument cluster, fan shroud and a few odds and ends for $20. It was a local pick-up and a positive experience.

How about we use Heatware?
Or try to use something like Beerology? its a dedicated site from a tech site I visit called ArsTechnica.com for the Trader forum.
Heatware is an indedpendent ranking site for internet trading, I suggest you all get ID's ( I already have one from some previous trading) its quick and easy to use and better than eBay
Just my $.02

Been buying alot from folks on the board lately--thanks to:
Rich in WI-- for the front struts and camber kit
Black Out-- for the 2-day shipping on the Springs
Teak --------The exhaust arrived safely, although the box looked like it lost a battle with a bush shredder!
Great communication all the way
The Artisan-Seatcovers arrived--looking good sir! I'll post a review after I install them. The service Kevin provides is a needed one--his service is quick, communication is stellar, and his prices are very reasonable compared to others. The quality of the leather, stitching and batting is factory all the way.
Anyone know how to use hog-ring pliers?
