Wow haha, this thread blew up.
The car is not for everyone, it has stretched tires, is stupid low, and the rear has a lot of camber. Fabel, I appreciate you attempting to "get my back", but honestly you are beating a dead horse, and making me look bad by arguing it as I do not side 100% with you and you have some misinformation there. I would have preferred the comment went unprovoked....
I couldn't care less if Kohler or anyone else doesn't like the car, I won't lose any sleep over it. I respect, and really like his car and the work he put into it, and hope he would be able to do the same, but it is fine if not
I did chuckle at choad though, what a great underused word. However, ruining the car? Seriously? Come on man it just suspension and wheels.....
The interior looks brighter in those pictures than it is in person. It is definitely taurusrot, as to whether it is original or not, I would assume yes, but have no proof, nor do I really care. Thanks for predicting my tire wear though guys
I will trust the guy who drove his car with the same specs to cali and back, then on to florida though, rather than a couple guys guessing as they dislike the way it looks.
At the end of the day it is MY car and it will be modded how I want. I understand that is not to some of your tastes, but does it really matter that much? We are all here because we like cars, no reason to get so bent out of shape of how mine sits.

I couldn't give a flying fuck what you do with your car. I don't have to like it. You're not going to convince me that everytime you scrape the bottom of your car on something that you're not ruining it. Again, I don't care. I do care when a douche cruise ship comes in and tries to tell me that I am wrong and need to be taught something for giving my opinion. Actually, I never even gave my opinion because I was trying to be nice and not turn your thread into a circus.
Am I happy you are happy? Sure. I'm also happy it doesn't bother you I don't like your car, though for what it is, its one of the nicer-looking ones, at least in photos.

That was uncalled for, and as said, not my opinion, nor do I think it should have been posted. I don't blame you for responding to him, but my car came up so it involved me
The car is in decent shape overall. It is far from a concourse car and is my daily driver, I am enjoying the ETA motor, and it does well on gas. The only thing that ever really touched is the exhaust, doesn't bother me that much, nor do I consider it ruining the car. Is definitely not for everyone, and can see how some would consider that destroying the car.

Moose,
The car looks very clean and Mike's does a great job of making even beat cars (ie "rusty") look great in photos, so it's pretty tough to judge the actual condition of your car... HOWEVER, it looks decent in the photo, so nice work. Your e28 is damn sharp, man!
I'm not a uberfan of the "Dunceworks" approach to ride height and wheel combo. It's my personal opinion that it looks cartoonish, but hey... it's your car, so my opinion should mean nothing in the grand scheme. I also respect that you posted the pic, knowing that everybody is not going to gush on and on about how amazing it is, but were mature enough to accept OUR opinions without feeling the need to defend your personal taste.
What Fagel (sp?) did is the typical response/approach to defending the style and trying to convince me that I'm wrong and he's right. Kudos to you for not coming in with a huge chip on you shoulder and that "I'm entitled" attitude.

Just sayin. You have your aggressive tire fitment and I have mine. I can't talk about my car?
I actually liked the car until Fabel was trying to shove it up my ass. I think I even said how I liked the finish on the raised portion of the spokes. If you're going to get all huffy-puffy than forget it.

"CoooI story bro" Is just usually said when someone posts something irrelevant or unnessacary
It filters to " I have no intelligent response or worthwhile input " when posted on mye28 though. I am glad your car makes 400hp, but your post has nothing to do with this thread. Just to be clear was not posting that towards you haha, I am sure it looks confusing on your end. See my previous posts for my position on Fabel...

Oh, excuse me. I guess making a comment about getting power to the ground has absolutly nothing to do with wheels that are at a 45 degree angle.
I was more or less responding to Fabel, Anyway.

Well, dammit,
you have to care! If we're all gonna be anal retentive, you have to be, too. It's a rule.
I think it's Cardinal because it's a sport interior and I don't think there was a Taurus leather sport interior. Given that the car is a 525, it's a lot more likely it didn't have either a sport
or a leather interior originally.
Thanks for predicting my tire wear though guys

OK; here's what you gotta do. Haul that bitch to 5er Fest so we can:
1.) Eyeball the interior and give you an authoritative genuine anal retentive opinion on its color and originality and
2.) See whether your rear tires are worn out yet ...
Beers at Siebkens are on the guy who's wrong.

There was indeed a Taurus sport interior. Jon in Richmond had one in his M535i. Rare, yes, but it was available and shouldn't be surprising being that it is a Euro car.

You could order a Euro car however you wanted. This car has Taurus interior and they're manual sport seats, so I don't understand why its being questioned.

Because I'm just as anal as you ...
[I didn't notice they were manual; and I didn't know there was a sport interior in Taurus. So I owe him a beer. But I still got a shot on the tire wear.

Unfortunately will not be making it out to 5er fest this year, the timing just does not work out with school/work, but am going to push to make it happen the year after that. I will report back on the tire wear, looks like the interior battle has already been completed
Even though the car is a 525e, it was pretty optioned out. I have all the paperwork on it being imported, and it was either ordered optioned well, or someone spent some money on it. Has Mtech Flares/Wheels and potentially suspension? As well as the sport interior etc.

Looks like all you taught me was that is guy is ruining a perfectly-good car with rare parts. The car looks disabled. Even more so knowing it's a 525e. My 535is is low, but I can still get over a speed bump without having to look like a choad.
I respect the fact that these people want to do something with their cars, but I really cannot stand their superiority complex.
You don't have to teach me anything about stupidity, btw. I've got that down.

wkohler made A LOT of good points here.
& just shows Moose to have atttempted extreme fitment for a bit while enjoying his 5 in a way that many other owners never have/ will or even know exists.
I am just grateful for him sharing.

well I'd like to ask: how so?
(am I making you look bad; do you not side with me; what information is misinformed)
you knew before you posted that there would be a lot of tension coming in this forum & posting the stance you provided,
so the 'provoking' came from your rear camber, stretched tires, & what seems to the unaware as an undriveable car.
I do like it, but I also agree with your assesment of the vehicle as well.
whatever, have fun & push the limits in ALL ways, then scale back & make the most of what is would be my philosphy & I was morese encouraging you or any other to do the same without worries of those just here to diminish the pride one takes in his car.
I know to stick up for you specifically would be beating a dead horse & so was not my attempt.
I moreso care to break cookie-cutter mentality of every car needs to be modded the same & that a car that does not carry it's own personality does not belong to you in the same way as it does the person that pushed limits, took risks, & attempted multiple feats within the same chassis over an extended period of time.
I have 'the back' of the person willing to enjoy their car in a direction that gives them the most fulfillment in return & I thought that was what you were after.
I will continue to encourage this, including within your thread, whether welcomed or not as I am not sticking up for the build as much as I am sticking up for:
the desire to pursue the vision one sees in their head & bringing THAT to reality, rather than being scared to take chances or receive ill approval from our peers.
there are plenty of members on here that do this & is who I respect most. it can be stock or stanced or oem-plus, I don't care as long as it is WELL DONE in that specific category.
one day everyone will get it
I hope.

Please stop posting in my thread. If you want to be a knight for "individuality" pursue it somewhere else. Obviously I have done what I want with my car, and will continue to do so in the future. If someone doesn't like it that is fine, and they have every right to post that they dislike it. It does not become an issue until someone like you quotes them and tries to prove they are wrong, when in reality it is just their opinion.

seems like YOU are the one with a chip on your shoulder when you come in here insulting a car, another forum, a difficult style to perfect, as well as insulting me.
I did no such thing to you or anyone else, so why bring a fight?
'dunceworks' was a bit funny & even better described, but where did I convince you that you were wrong & where did I convince you that I was right?
I did defend the style because it deserves to be defended. I think it's on the extreme end, but at the same time, I know how difficult it can be to 'dial in' a car correctly with the correct stretch to match the rear set, what camber settings are necessary to fit an oversized wheel, the effect of offsets, etc.
I just gave Moose the thumbs up & tried to remove any of the booing . . . why fault me for this?
& eventhough I care little to admit this, especially now:
I really LOVE your car. it sits so nice on the style 5 wheels & bumpers, the shadowtrim that I am too leary to try myself yet, & even generally your knowledge on these cars.
I have used YOUR car Jake to convince a fellow co-worker to purchase an E28.
---- notice! I said I used your car as the example car to
convince a co-worker into buying an E28 himself, not
mine.
---- also notice, that mine has 160k mi. with NO rust, 3 owner
history with 2in. stack of receipts, always garage kept,
multiple sets of wheels (mostly OEM BMW sets), etc.
---- again, even as clean of an exampled E28 I have, I used
YOURS!!
so I ask,
how could I have ever told you that you were wrong?
I did not & don't recall EVER telling anyone they were or even hinting at it.
I have had your photos as my background at some point in the past.
I would say that for me, your setup would be ideal (90%) to how I'd like my car to be someday.
gosh Josh, be nice mate!
