An E9 Coupe. A csl or csi would be the ultimate, but I know I would never be able to afford one, so a nice clean 3.0 cs with a B35 conversion would be fine by me.

Anything with an ///M in it.

Anything pre 95 done by Alpina, Hartge, or AC Schnitzer.

Would love a nice 2002, but with maybe a e to i M20 installed.

507 roadster.

850csi with a 6 speed, actually all of the cars above would have to have a manual tranny!

I know some of these are going to be unobtainable by me, be it is nice to dream. But a few of them, maybe someday!

My list has been trimmed so I thought I'd update it. Some of the cars on my old list aren't as much fun to drive.

E23 1983-1986 Euro or South African 745i with a 5-Speed conversion
E24 1987-88 US Spec M6
E28 1988 US Spec M5
E31 1990-1999 850i/Ci 6-Speed
E34 1991-95 M5

328
507
Isetta
2002 Turbo
M1
Euro E28 M5
After that, it gets fuzzy.

And I could own any of them.. in an alternate universe where I own a time machine and have unlimited resources.

E30 M3

These as well but could live without... I already do....
E46 M3
E36 M3
E34
E24

maybe even more...

Is it me or BMW is the only car maker that has so many models I'd love to own.

Hmm, my list hasn't changed, except that I'd add an E82 1-series M coupe (white or orange over black) and/or an E90 335i.

The only reason my list changed is because I was about to make an offer on a car on my list and decided I wanted to be a little more selective on what I was parking in my garage space. Twice actually. Once on a 75 3.0si and once on a 5-Speed E24 635CSi. So that also bumped a few others off my list as well.

I'm changing my list again but its kind of a moot point because I only have one garage space and its occupied by my dream car.

E12 M535i
E23 1983-1986 Euro or South African 745i
E24 1987-88 US Spec M6
E28 1988 US Spec M5
E31 1990-1999 850i/Ci 6-Speed
E31 1996-1999 840Ci Steptronic
E34 1991-95 M5
E38 1999-2001 740i Sport Pkg Steptronic

I've noticed lots of new members since my winter return... anyone else want to play?

My update:

E12 M535i
E24 1987-88 US Spec M6
E28 1988 US Spec M5
E31 1990-1999 850i/Ci 6-Speed- I've now driven one with the 6-Speed and its quite a machine.
E32 1988-94 750iL- I think this is hard to beat as an executive cruiser. It never made the cut earlier because the fear of the V12 in a non-garage queen car. Clearly I've overcome that obstacle.

On the line now:
E23 1983-1986 Euro or South African 745i- The E32 does a pretty darn good job in this category.

These are cut:
E31 1996-1999 840Ci Steptronic- I like the V12 better. If I were to do it I'd want to do it right.
E34 1991-95 M5- Someone's going to have to try real hard to get me emotionally engaged with an E34.
E38 1999-2001 740i Sport Pkg Steptronic- I think the E32 V12 is cooler for a few reasons at this point. And I'm starting to feel that the Sport Pkg E38 is overpriced now days. And- I hate to say this- but E38s don't feel as solid to me as does an E32.

First the BMWs I have in my driveway now:

'02 E39 M5 - 12 years old and auto writers are still pining over this car. I understand.

E36 328i - The only red car I've ever wanted and happy for it to be wife's DD. Saying the PO was anal is an understatement. Yesterday Cindy said she wanted to turbo her e36. I immediately went down the list of what we needed to make it happen. Then she said she was joking. Not funny. :tsk:

E36 328ti to be. I'm slow but some things are getting done. I'm in the process of juggling parts around, deciding which goes to what car.

Also have the eta. It's very neglected right now but if William doesn't do something soon I may have a plan or two for it.

On a practical level, this is enough BMWs for now. Sure I would love a 3.0cs or an E36 M Coupe but the E28 puts a check in the "classic lines" box and the ti could someday be a Coupe in sheep's clothing.

Oh, and an E34 Touring. It's the only version of the E34 I've ever been interested in.
