Between the wheels, seats, M5 bumpers and the trans, that's a steal. Wonder if the EDC works.

Wow. It does look like it's a real M-Sport. I didn't realize that at first.

I'm texting him about it right now. Doesn't appear to be sold. It's not an M-sport, either.

Edit: He said he has a few people coming to look at it this afternoon. It looks like it will sell. I wish I had seen this on Sunday.

He must not have liked my email message, heh.

Edit: Did he add a pinstripe and swap out the wheels (and mirrors)?

He says the pics in the C'list ad are of this car, but I don't know if I believe him. He says he still has the t-stars for it, too. :dunno:

There appears to be a tinting discrepancy as well. Hard to say whether it's the same car from the pictures (my gut feeling is it isn't), but there's no question the car in the CL ad looks much better. Kinda glad he told me it was sold; might have wasted a two-hour round trip.

How do you get from Charlotte to DC and back in two hours?
rmiddendorf wrote: This went from a potential good deal to one that reeks. Pass.
I probably wouldn't be able to make any money on the car, but if someone wants to just drive it, it's still a decent deal. The interior looks pretty nice.

My M5 is unusually fast? Heh. I'm up north for the holidays.

If I end up looking at something else in DC and someone here is really interested, I might be able to fit in a test drive. (If I can get the seller to reply, of course.)

I agree, it sure does look like it. It also looks like the car in the ad has m-tech side mirrors, which this car does not.

There are a bunch of E34 530i cars floating around the Ohio area. Personally I think that model was crap to begin with but if anyone wants to know about them I'll post them.

Should anyone see the following advertisment posted to Craigslist please note that it is a scam. The car does not exist and the photos in the advertisment are not of the actual car.
1988 BMW M5 Black on Tan Excellent Condition 1 Owner All ...
Dec 16, 2011 ... BMW M5 Black on Tan Excellent Condition 1 Owner All Records Very Rare Year: 1988. M-Series: M5 Mileage: 59277. Car Color: Black ...
philadelphia.craigslist.org
A similar advertisement was posted to M-Series.com and it is also a scam. AutoClassix stole the images from another classified listing and they were reposted on M-Series.com and Craigslist. Its also worth noting that the email address of the registered owner/ admin of the M-Series.com domain appears in the ad but it has not been removed from the site.

Best,

If it comes with everything as shown, this is one a helluva deal.

Exterior accessorized for fun in the sun while the interior is equally appealing.

This one is literally around the corner from me, so if anyone's interested and would like me to check it out, just let me know. I already have an e30 convertible--so low probability of me buying another one at the moment :D
