What did you do to your other car(s) today?
I've been busy with lots of e24 stuff this weekend. I replaced the air filter, adjusted the valves, replaced some fuel and vacuum hoses, and replaced the crooked alternator. Fixed the accelerator pedal linkage under the dash, and adjusted the cable. Pulled the instrument cluster and replaced odometer gears and a bulb, and fixed the variable resistor in the headlight switch so the dash lights could work. While I was at it I decided to swap the 7K tach with the 6K tach in the e28 (it was somewhat inadequate for the M50, which I've found can peg the 7K tach as well), since pulling the e28 cluster is nothing in comparison. Then I unjammed the driver's window motor, reattached a loose rod coming from the lock, and lubed the window and lock mechanisms.
Next up:
brake fluid is dark and gooey
glove box door doesn't close
shift linkage is sloppy
CD player doesn't appear to work, and radio reception is crap

Picked up a 72 MGB to return to life. One owner, garaged, covered & not started for 19 years. Needs all the typical BMC crapola.
Did outdrive tear down inspection on the boat, sealed transom drain tube, ordered new outrive.
4 wheel alignment & tire balance on my E430.
New hood pad & 3rd brake light interior cover on the 400E.
Drove a Dinan 550.. There is a God!

Just parked my '68 Dart 270 after DD'ing it for a month. Torrential rain reminded me that I haven't replaced the wiper seals yet so it was raining on my feet. Prior to this I had replaced the 7.25 rear end with another 7.25 rear end and replaced the rear brake lines, all 4 drums and new brake shoes as well.

I got the replacement parts in for the X5's lock cylinder yesterday, so dove into that project last night... The parts I got from eBay were junk. One of the bits (middle of the photo) was malformed/broken, but thankfully the original it was supposed to replace was still intact so I reused it. Also reused the original spring; the replacement piece was bent differently than the original and it took way too much effort to get it in there. Then when assembled the lock wouldn't turn properly. And the washer-type thing (bottom right) was so tight against the other pieces (left side and top right) that it had to be tapped into place.

But I can't complain too much; the two pieces I needed to replace worked ok. But it still ticks me off that the kit had faulty/crappy bits in it. Complaint has been filed; we'll see where it goes.
Another weird thing with the kit I got; the videos I saw on YouTube explaining this fix said that there were two versions of one part (the two on the left of the photo.) One for locks installed on the left and one for the right. But the two that were in my kit were identical. Good thing I got the right part (left side.)

Got the new tires installed on the wifes 9-7x Aero. Man does it drive straight now! Stupid worn out (original 78k) RSA's.
Had it loaded with 4-275/45/20 Continentals, 4-16' Borbets with my 225/50/16 Toyo's (for the 5er) on those, and the bags you see right in front of the conti's are the e38 style 5 rims the Toyo's were going on.
Where the magic happened...my old high school shop. It's a shame they are losing funding and runnin the teacher into retirement....
This truck here is dedicated to the burnout contest. We won 3 years in a row when I was attending...
BBC 454 under the hood
And the Monte Carlo...man this was fun. First (and last time) I've ever ran 13's in a car. 13.8 whilst blowing up the trans. What a day that was!
SBC 357 with a hot cam. Long tube headers...hardly any exhaust system...
And a quick cell phone panoramic to show the whole place.

Had a friend throw my built '99 Ford Lightning on the dyno for shits and giggles while I was busy wrenching on the e28.
I was curious to see what it would do after fixing a minute vacuum leak that had developed. It put down 528 rwhp/ 541 rwtq.
Very happy with the results considering it's only pushing 10.5 PSI out of the supercharger.

Oil and filter on both the E36 and E39. New fogs on the E39 since one got broken a couple of weeks ago. New Zenon bulbs on the E39, those things dim with age. A lot. They had gone from great to worse than sealed beams. I drove it a few weeks ago and had to pull over and make sure they were working. With 225K now on M52's I've yet to have to add a quart of oil.

Painted (paid someone) the roof and rear bumper on the touring. Also had the fluids changed, dog bones and tranny mounts replaced. Also replaced (did this myself) the stock radio with a new fan-dangled head unit. Does everything including make a perfect cup of espresso. I also picked up a set of wheels which are now out getting refinished.

Crappy pic while Susan and I were out getting some tacos:
PO had drilled holes to attach a very rare Pep Boys spoiler which really did a great job of keeping the rear firmly planted on the ground. Now filled and painted
Right rear bumper had seen a little action, probably backed in to a skyscraper or something. The trim was missing and the valance had been damaged. Also some genious did an amazing job painting some sort of texture coating on the top of the bumper. All good now!
Radio install was pretty easy thanks to Chris Kohler who sent me a diagram that decoded the wires/colors:
Spent a frustrating couple of hours on the e32 last night; ABS has been acting up, so I pulled the front wheels to check the sensors. Left wheel went ok, and everything looked good, but the right front... The screw holding the sensor snapped off, so I spent way too long trying to get the hole cleared. The sensor was clean, so I buttoned things back up and took it for a test drive; no joy.
My right front parking light is out too, so I spent a little time poking around in there; measured ~10 volts at the socket, so I've probably got some corrosion on a connector somewhere. Finding that'll be fun.
Haven't decided what to do tonight; I can either jack up the rear of the e32 and look further for the ABS issue, and maybe spend (waste?) some more time on the parking light issue, or I can get started on replacing the front wheel bearings on the X5. Hmmmm... Which do I prefer, pulling out fingernails with a pliers or banging on my toes with a hammer?
