Here's one I wouldn't expect, but am very glad for just the same... I just finalized a cash transaction with a guy for a set of wheels and tires for my daughter's 318Ti, and accidentally overpaid by $100. The seller called me back a half-hour after we parted, told me what he had found when he counted the cash, and drove back to bring the money to me.

Our agreed-upon price was $250. I had some cash at home from a couple of other recent sales I had made -- two $100s and a small stack of $20s -- so I grabbed the $100s and two $20s this morning, not bothering to count because I knew (or thought I knew) there were only two $100s there. I guess there were three. We arranged to meet at a truck stop near where I work to make the exchange; it was really windy, so counting the bills was difficult with trying to keep them from blowing away. Apparently missed that a couple of them were clinging to each other. My assumption that there were only two didn't help (need to talk with my wife about where that third bill came from.)

The young gentleman I dealt with was driving an Alpine White e36 & sporting a BMWCCA t-shirt. He goes to school with and is buddies with another mye28 guy I know from Sioux Falls. As a college student, I'm sure he could've put that extra $100 to good use, and most would've pocketed that extra bill without a thought. But it's awesome to see honesty like that on display. Almost enough to bring a tear to the eye.

And yes, he got a reward for that, if for nothing else but to cover the fuel he burned getting the cash back to me.

:up:I knew there was a reason I feel a kinship with you; two thumbs up, one for the young man and the other for you.

He tried to have me thrown out of the SDYC clubhouse in 1987 and on June 4th 1988 he tried to get the Harbor Police to arrest me (and yes I still hold a grudge). He still is a HUGE douchebag. He was having a hissy fit because the cashier couldn't calculate in her head what the price per ounce was of the tequila he was buying. He actually said (and i swear i'm not making this up) "I demand to see the manager".

I remember he was a big deal in '83. I was listening to a news account about the American Cup whilst driving home my first automotive toy, a 60 something, Willys Overland do Brasil . .AKA http://ruralwillys.tripod.com/englishruralwillys.htm

Here's something cool; childbirth images from an MRI. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7JiYZ7jtxQ

Speaking of childbirth, I wonder... If Star Trek transporter technology were real, would it be possible to beam the baby out? :dunno:

Just polished off a bottle of Trappistes Rochefort #10. Very nice brew, and plenty potent (nice buzzzzzz.) I soldier on in search of (hic) the Perfect Beer™ (hic).

(that explains the buzz; 11.3% ABV. Nite-nite.)

Yesterday I broke down and bought an el-cheapo corded 1/2" impact driver to help with my rear subframe project... Why the &*^( didn't I do that years ago?!?! That thing was so stinkin' slick for getting the 32 allen bolts out of the rear axles I could hardly believe it. Knocked them loose with the driveshaft on the floor under the car and the rear brakes totally off. And the big nasty bolts holding the trailing arms on, and the big nasty bolts holding the rear dogbones in place... No more busted knuckles (well, fewer anyway) and no more cheater bars.

Never ever ever again will I work on a car without an impact driver. Never.
And I already told my wife that she can get me a cordless one for my birthday. It would even count as my Christmas present and anniversary gift.

$40 on sale at Menards.

Only because I’m an idiot. Tomorrow is my off Friday so all I had to do was burn one vacation day to get a five dayer off but I waited too long so I’m stuck here with the other stupid people.
Also, I.S. updated me from AutoCad 2008 to AutoCad 2013 and I simply do not care to learn all the new buttons this afternoon. If only I could think of an excuse to go out in the field.

*sigh* The only think that could possibly salvage this day is an office shark

It was a good day to be stuck inside at work where the ACs are plentiful. 105.3°F in the shade on the patio outside my office.

I have to leave soon though, and I'm driving the eta, which has no working AC. Wonder if I can pack some extra ACs for the drive home...

All my life I've wished to be surrounded by beautiful women.
Tonight, with a full house of 'em plus my Moms and Mother-n-law I'd just like to say. . .be careful what you wish for.
I'm going out to the garage for a bit.

I grew up with five sisters (and a pretty decent-looking bunch, I might add) and can honestly say that particular wish has never crossed my mind. (oh-nay omo-hay)

Why is it when you order two glasses of wine with dinner, the second is always larger? If I got the second one first I might not need the second one.

I went to Sam's Club tonight to pick up a few things and found this; Old Carbine Tequila. A one liter bottle shaped like a gun, with two shot glasses. $50.

Much better, Thanks.

Every time I saw that all I could think of was that shot I captured of Peter. If you know who Peter is here on the board and search, you might get lucky and find the pic.

If you've ever worked outside in the South you know what can develop after many days of being hot-n-wet. I combat "swamp-ass" by wearing some holy khakis (dress-code at the hacienda) and no boxers when I get home.
To make a long story short, I've caught my Johnson tip in the zipper twice this week and my Helmet is beginning to look like a chewed up puppy Pit-Bull's ear.
