Hey, I resent that!
I'll have you know I moved my cat's aromatherapy two weeks back just so I could make this event.

I can't wait, 7 1/2 more days.....

whats the big deal? its the same cars every year, it's too hot, and on the weekend it's so loud you cant hear yourself drink. Besides I have better things to do that week.

Well I was suppose to drive up in the wife's e39 but insurance just deemed it totaled. She is ok but the car is toast. Short version is, she was at a stop sign, another car ran the stop sign, t-boned a car in the intersection, flipped and then hit her.
My e28 is not ready to go at all. Wife is taking the Durango to go see family so that leaves me without a car. I hope I can get a rental or possibly a new car by Friday. Can I park at the Legends in a rental Kia?

Getting another perm? Remember what happened last time, not pretty...
Jay, sorry to hear about your wife, I am happy to hear she is ok. Why not slap some BMW badges on the Kia and sneak your way in.

No Sol Cal boys have an empty seat to hitch a ride with up & back, hell, your right on the way.
However you get here my Brotha, just get here.
I'm just glad Beck is ok, plus it was just an E39.

I'll be part of a 2-car caravan
following RonP and Kimberly on Tuesday. It's just me and the go pedal, so I'd have the room and be happy to pick you up if you're still needing a lift. I'm 99% sure we're returning on the 21st by the same route. The latter really isn't that important though, getting there is where it's at!

Oh and Karl, I'm sure this has been here awhile, but I was drinking a beer and glanced down and read that, I just about spit my beer all over my computer while laughing.

Mike, That is actually closer to what my hair looks like right now than you could ever imagine. I haven't had a haircut in over 2 months.
I hope you guys have a great time. This is shaping up to be an epic event this year. If there was ever a year to go with an e28, especially an m5, this is it. Good luck to Mike and everyone else showing cars -- I hope the rest of you are showing too. If nothing else, it's a good way to get a parking spot next to the drink daddy. Bring ear plugs for the weekend and make sure you get out at night to see the weird stuff on the streets on Monterey.
Save me some swag. I have a couple of Spaten license plates from last year to trade. I want to see another picture of Charles with the girls too.

We came, we drank, we conq, uuh, puked? You wouldn't believe the security deposits they require. Probably trying to put a hurt on the liquor funds.

Jay, thank goodness your wife is okay. I hope there won't be any delayed problems that sometimes happen after a crash.
See you Tuesday!

Last night I was making negative progess but then there was a flash of goodness when the car started and ran so I thought all was well.
The next thing I know I had a hole saw in my hand and I was going in...
I just recently got home after a full day at La Jolla (Amy's car is almost done and looks awesome. You can not tell that it had an, um, impact.) via Carl's e36 M3 powered 6 speed e34 wagon (sorry Linus he gots you beat by one gear) and I will be back to the shop tomorrow after work for more "progress." With any luck I will come home with my own car just in time to wash it, wax it, figure out what parts and tools need to go with, box the spare parts and tools for travel, pack my clothes and stuff, mow the yard before dark all before I have to be at work at 7:00AM Tuesday; the day I leave for Monterey AFTER work.
NO PROBLEM!

The car has been loaded on to a truck and tomorrow it will be heading to Monterey.
I got up at 4:00 this morning, I couldn't help it my mind was racing and I couldn't go back to sleep. I finished prepping the car as best I could and packed it full of supplies. Thank God there's a Costco in Monterey since I didn't leave a single spot left for booze. I still have some funky issue to sort out with the new radiator, hopefully it is something like a bad hose or clamp.

So wait, you're not driving it up this year? Afraid of a few bugs?
Is lunch at Malibu Inn tomorrow still on?

Mike Pelly (Orange 2002tii at Beers n Brats) just finished the restoration on his car. He asked for help finding a transport to take the car up for him. The only thing I could find was the company we use to ship our RR's. He has a 2 car hauler so the only way to make it work was to ship both cars.
As for lunch, I think we are still on. Lets see what Charles and Jeff say.

I think I might actually be ready to go in the morning but I can't shake this nagging feeling that I'm forgetting something obvious and important.

Yes, he went there.
He's riding with me so I guess it is fortunate that I was able to finish the Death Metal road mix for the now functioning stereo.

The Malibu Inn, where the elite meet to eat.

Have Cupcake text me when you guys hit the 91 (Artesia Blvd); that should give me enough time get on the road to intercept you guys in the 'Boo.
(That is based on you guys are coming up the 405 until where, LAX or the 10 then over to PCH?)

Hey, no Bogarting.
