It's gonna be a fun weekend.

Looks good Sherman!
Now I need someone to split Cabin #6 with me, anyone out there?

Posted: Aug 19, 2013 5:53 PM
by 1st 5er
Cabin #6 has what, 2 Doubles and 2 Twins?
What's gonna be available?

Posted: Aug 19, 2013 9:34 PM
by tbrints
Cabin #6 is a two bedroom with their own full baths, each bedroom has 1 full bed and 1 single bed. If we could split the cost with someone, my oldest son and I would take one room.

It's $179/night, so that would be basically $90/night for each room.

How many cars will be in attendance?

Hey Sherman,
I actually expect to be in Austin in October, but a week too early (ACL festival) for this and probably w/o the E12.

I've got to go to one of these soon. I already did well over 4000 miles on the E12 with a trip out to 5erWest and 4 Corners all in the last month!

Damn, damn! That's one of my favorite areas to drive. Fast, tight, smooth runs up and down the mountains. Just a blast and I won't be able to make it. Suuucks.

Y'all have fun and watch out for those deer. We did actually come around a fast corner to a herd of cows in the road during a BMW event.

You have to include a stop at the Salt Lick out or back, or the Oasis, like we did one year.

This is from our last stop at the Oasis.

Awfully tempting....further west than I thought on a map, but still something like 670 mi and I'm already doing the drive to Austin.

What I've got to do is move back to Texas. The best things that can happen to you in New Mexico is encountering signs such as "Welcome to Texas", "Now entering Colorado", or "Entering Arizona". A "!Bienvenidos a Mexico!" sign is probably a lateral move. :-)

Wow! I forgot what Lake Travis looked like with water in it. It's nothing like that picture now. It's pretty much just a river at this point.

I was afraid of that. That July 4th was a great trip. They were in the middle of a huge add-on at the Oasis. Like it wasn't a big enough tourist trap before. LOL I hope they aren't losing their shirts because of the drought.
