More like this? If you keep this up you'll need a bigger fireplace. ;)

Thanks Mike,
I'll copy and paste and forward to my wife for final approval.
Around our house, if it's outside it's mine, and inside is hers.
When she says she wants to paint the living room, I say OK, and head for the garage.
It's worked for 35 years...
So, depending... they may have to find a place on a garage wall.

Edited for typo.

A couple of updates;

#1 - I got the Allstate settlement in the mail today.
Seems I misunderstood the Total Loss Dept. rep when I agreed to the settlement.
I'm sure I was told they were valuing the car at $3,000.00.
The reality is, that the total settlement, value placed on the car, was $3,603.40  with a salvage buy-back of $103.40. :alright:
That made me :D when I opened the envelope.
Off to the bank tomorrow where I'll let the money set for a few days before forwarding to our mortgage company.
Come the end of this year, we'll be walking on our paid for grass. That feeling should really bring a :D to anybody's face.
Good does come out of even the things that hurt. (I knew this already, from experience, not just faith)

#2 - My wife said, "you did an excellent job Mike".
But, as to them hanging above the fireplace, she said, "not just no, but, HELL NO".

What happened with the wagon? Are you buying it back? I'd like to help you pay for your grass ;)

Thanks for the reminder to update that thread, things have been a bit crazy around my house the last few weeks.

A little off topic... but this picture kind of makes it look like the impact was so hard that it turned your car into a Chevette... Now you know that's bad! ;)

Again, glad you are okay... That was a nasty impact.

One additional adjustment to your living room.

Yes I would.
If not this one, I've got another rust free chassis I can get it from.

I'll need pics / and dimensions of what you want.
This thread or an email, take your pick.

I've thought that every time I walk past it at the right angle.

That is hilarious Mark.
I literally  .

The speed is appropriate too, as that's pretty close to reality at the times of impact.

Polaris, but it's been resprayed, and not a perfect match.
Other than that, it's perfect.

Some final shots prior to part out, for your consideration.

A couple of you have asked about specific parts, here's the part-out thread, so speak now or forever hold your peace.

No need to be sorry.
It is a pretty good comparison.
My oldest daughter's first car was a Pontiac T1000, in it's original form. ;)

Post your offer the Part Out Thread so I can more easily keep up with them.

It'll come with a darkly tinted window attached, so shipping won't be in a USPS Flat Rate box.

Am I seeing what I think I'm seeing? Did you snap the driveshaft off?

No. I thought that at first too.
It's an optical illusion of sorts.
Look closer and you'll see the u-joint is flexed to accommodate the upward bend in the rear end.
The entire rear frame/body is bent upwards all the way to the tweaked roof.

I cut away the rear left quarter panel where it was rubbing against the left rear wheel.
The car will actually move under its own power.
I told another forum member I was considering putting it back on the road with "This BMW saved my life" painted on the doors.

LOL Slap a couple of trailer lights on back and you're good to go? Complete with "DTM exhaust tips", that would get some attention going down the road.
