The guy with the alpine 540 is flipping it (and a dealer). It was for sale a couple of weeks ago by owner for 3900. He also has a 45k mile 5spd E30 for sale.

Selling my daily driver 1983 BMW. The color is BronzitBeige. Interior is Nutria. Seats were originally Nutria Comfort manuals, but the seats have been converted to 10-way power PearlBeige Cloths. The mileage is north of 240,XXX miles. The is estimate since mileage odometer is broke (common to these cars) This is a project car and far from perfect. The body is in good shape though with no accidents or bent/dent/tweaked body panels. Paint is good with only the roof paint looking faded. Timing belt including thermostat, belts, water pump, both fuel pumps, and all fuel lines were done 2 1/2 years ago with less than 20,000 miles since that time on those components ... have receipts. "Goldie Locks" needs some work though. She always starts up even in the dead of winter. Gets 28+mpg on highway $800. CASH ONLY. NO TRADES

ISSUES:
1. sloppy shifter
2. window wiper linkage broken
3. passenger side power seat functions intermittently (relay box)
4. needs front rotors soon (rear rotors, brakes pads are new) front pads are good. Entire system has been bleed with ATE SuperBlue racing brake fluid.
5. temp gauge reads at solidly @ 12 O'clock position instead of the usual 11 O'clock. Thermostat is new and car has had a coolant flush within past two years. Most likely reason for higher temp are the radiator and fan clutch are old and probably original to car.
6. Rear shocks are worn
7. Rear passenger side trailing arm bushing squeaks loudly
8. Front suspension bushings are worn.
9. Mileage odometer is broke(fixable)
10. Differential mount is original(worn)
11. Center Support Bearing is original (Worn)
12. Needs one new tire in driver's side rear(almost bald). The driver's side front is great with around 80-90% tread left. Passenger side front and rear are about at 30%-40% tread left
13. Rear Windows move slowly

That's all the major things wrong with car I can think of. I still drive it as is. I plan on changing out the steering wheel before sale and installing another one. I just don't have time for her anymore due to my other BMW projects ... $-) Someone with some time and that can turn a wrench could have a sweet little, economical car. Sellling AS-IS. Thanks for looking.

WBSDC9304J2791091 was originally a USA spec E28 M5 built with Natur leather. This car has accident history and received paintwork.

190,000 miles. super interior. runs well, Standard shift. Exterior has some dings but is solid, engine good, probably needs O2 sensor, easy to work on car. These cars regularly go well over 200,000. missing trim in trunk. Leather seats in excellent condition.

OMG! I didn't notice that. Sending an Email now...

EDIT: Another observation- look how there is exactly no legroom in the back. None. You would have to sit Indian style to ride back there with the seats back that far.

That's not an e32 interior; seats are wrong, manual in a 750 with no mention in the ad (???) arm rest on the door is all wrong (looks like e30) and zero legroom in back tells me somebody is trying to pull a fast one. BEWARE.

That interior shot almost looks E30ish. :dunno: It's been a while since I've been in an E32.

I don't know what car the front seat picture is, but the seat backings in the front seat picture are different than the rear seat picture.

You can see the backings go all the way up the seat in this picture.
Image

But in this picture they stop just before the top of the seat. Plus sport seats should not have the net pocket.

Also- the car with the sport seats has a stick shift but it looks like the image with the one of the rear seats is an auto. The car with the sport seats also appears to have the lever on the drivers seat to swing it forward to let a rear passenger in- implying its a two door car.

Could be a scam, could be an idiot. Dunno.

1984 BMW 745i-RARE! - $2000 (Eaton)
Date: 2011-10-28, 9:03AM EDT
Reply to: sale-wd37j-2673052816@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]
For sale is a rare, cool part of German automotive history!! This is a 745i turbo Executive that came from the factory with a 3.5l turbocharged intercooled engine generating 255hp stock. It has 155k on the clock, but in the 2 years I've owned it it's been driven very little, and garaged. If you know your BMW's you will know that this model is very rare and is known as a grey-market car meaning these were never marketed in the US, as such, the instrumentation is in German, the interior is trimmed in buffalo hide not leather, which was standard ONLY on this model. In the time I've owned it, app. 3k has been invested in repairs and upgrades. The exterior is very clean as there are only 2 rust spots on the entire car, and these are no bigger than a quarter. The clearcoat is peeling on the hood, roof, and trunk, but is ok on the sides. The interior has NO tears anywhere, and everything works except for the sunroof , the a/c and the rear stereo controls. All climate controls work, all gauges, all seat functions work as well including the power REAR reclining seats!! Mechanically it is sound, engine is tight with no smoking or leaking or noises. Alternator, p/s pump, battery, both fuel pumps, radiator, water pump, belts, all radiator hoses and fuel hoses are new. All rubber associated with the turbo/intake system are new as well (very expensive!). Transmission works well, as the fluid and filter is new and the valve body was rebuilt by Joe Gisler in AZ who is an expert on these transmissions. Rear shocks and associated suspension components have been replaced as well. I have the shocks for the front, but have not installed them, however they will be included in the sale. Car has e38 (late model 7-series) wheels with Kumho Ecstas that have easily under 1000 miles on them. I hate VERY much to sell it, but I am relocating and buying a house, so it has to go!! Please call with questions, and PLEASE, serious inquiries ONLY!! I am going to stress again, NO JOYRIDES!! Do not bother contacting me unless you have the following...cash, means to come get the car (I'm not driving it an hour and a half to you), and approval from your significant other!!!! I'm moving soon and I want the car GONE!! Matt- More pics available on request...

I dunno, I kinda like leeks. They're best in leek soup. Leaks, on the other hand, are annoying. Nice car, though.

This 535iS and is being misrepresented as an M5. The VIN is WBADC7402J1717326 and it was originally built as an Alpine White/ Lama Leather 535iS. It is NOT an M5 and the $39,990 asking price is beyond presumptuous.

I think Mark Norris built that car. Might be fun to drive but certainly not an M5. Price is a chuckle generator.

Two thoughts:

I like the cars that Enthusiast Auto has but the prices are very aggressive, even when one figures the relative cost of buying a nice example in the first instance. When I saw this car for sale, and the VIN, I emailed them to the effect that I thought it was potentially problematic to advertise this as an M5 and that they would likely damage the firm's credibility within the BMW enthusiast community.

Second, I think the 30k mile M5 sold for a very nice price, and now the owner is being greedy. This car has been on the website a long time, in my judgment to condition the market for the car. But I guess we'll see what it brings. Personally, in addition to what can in most charitable terms be described as a "quasi-misrepresentation" of this car as an M5, I find the interior a big turn off but that's just me.

I have to say that I think that is a cool car, although I agree that is is misrepresented as a true M5 and the price does seem aggressive. However if I wanted a clean M5 driver I would certainly consider this.

I dunno. Judging by the tiny, crappy out-of-focus pictures made into a much larger even more out-of focus video of said pictures, I'd say it's in the hands of complete morons.

Hell, for $40k one could probably put something like this together or just buy a euro M5.
