Rather disturbing but I had a dream last night that you developed a black Corvette that actually flew....like in the air with the birds flew. The one comment you made after a test flight is that there was too much wind to lite a cigar.

Strange, very strange.

You gonna Jet-Hot the tubing?

Manifolds, piping and the entire exhaust will be ceramic coated by Connecticut Coating in Hartford.

this is awesome, i plan on putting a 5.3 turbo motor in my 71 monte, but its cool to see in an e28 too. :D

there were some guys in nebraska that built a ford fairmont back in 2007 with an LM7 5.3 (iron block 295hp version) that just had an LS6 cam/springs in it and with an MP70 turbo on 18psi made over 900hp at the crank and pushed the car to 9.40's in the 1/4 mile, and this is all on the stock bottom end, they sold it to a guy who still drives it to this day. just type in "quickest stock ls" on youtube, its a tan car.

hot rod magazine also put twin turbos on a mildly built 4.8 LS motor and made 1200hp on the stock bottom end and made over 60 dyno pulls at over 1000hp.

Bell Intercooler arrived today. Sweeney will be fabricating the top tank and adding an elbow to the bottom tank. Core is 18x12x3.

More progress. I installed the heads and valvetrain and some other bits on the engine. Manifolds are back from the ceramic coater and are installed. Sweeney, added a flex connector to the Y pipe and the wastegate flange.

Oh Boy oh boy oh boy!

Going to be a beast. I think when I do mine I will keep it NA. My co workers Vette made 630whp all motor on a mild build...and still has AC lol

Some progress this weekend. Engine is ready to drop in next weekend. Charge pipe is finished. Sweeney fabricated the final touches.

Too bad this work of art will never be seen.

It's the divider for the collector.

I see it right now.

So this makes it a twin scroll manifold? Apologies for the newbness if its a dumb question. I like how the end is chamfered for minimum turbulence i assume. Nice work Todd.

Correct. It's actually tapered and shaped to the thickness of the collector divider.

I am not optimistic. :bawl:

I will not be rushing this build. It takes however long it takes. The 290 mile round trip each weekend is a killer!

BTW, it's a very non competitive get together. while the cars bring us there it really has less to do with the cars than just hanging out. Time to put your "chill" hat on if you have one. Are you bringing Alex?

Looking very sweet, very clean.

I predict you will be breaking things that have never been broken on a E28 and it will be quite a sorting process.

Ionly want 550rwhp/500rwtq. That's only +50rwtq from my previous high. Doubt anything fails.

Looking good! I just acquired my 5.3 thursday, not sure if I wanna do boost or not. I was thinking more of a budget 5.7 build, I have a bunch of Z06 parts and heads that my coworker will sell to me for a good price.

Btw, how does the brake assist work now with the GM pump, is it just a simple matter of just re-routing the lines?

What year is your 5.3? I have not completed the PS pump routing yet.

Dono yet. Its a cast iron block. From what i read, the tab where the PS bolts up to is different. Serial number is
12567392
I picked up the motor, bare long block for $500.
