Slightly OT: Talk about your engine swaps, this one is prett
In 1986, I pulled the 283/Powerglide out of my '57 Chevy and installed a 350/TH350. Damn, that was a difficult swap! %)
Before that, I swapped the Rolls-Royce Merlin out of a P-51B in favor of an Allison out of a P-40 in order to create an A-36. Fabricating the engine mounts and vac-forming the new spinner and cowlings were PITAs! At least I could do all of it on top of a card table.

Hell, Shawn, everyone knows the P-51A has a different engine mount than the -51B and all the rest until the -51H which is different yet again, no wonder you had trouble.
