Does the clamp need to be loosened so that the splined shaft can slide back an forth? Mine is pretty well stuck in one place.

loosen the large nut near the spline with a big set of channel locks. mine didn't come with much lubrication so I opened it up and slopped some grease in there and slid it back together. install, adjust accordingly make sure you use new self locking nuts, a new flexible coupling and a new center bearing, then tighten the spline when everything is installed. If you dont have a lift, it's a real bitch to install if your laying on your back with the car on jackstands. But its doable. Have fun!!!!

Finally read the Benltey- duh. 17 ft-lbs of torque on the locking nut. Specs it in the center bearing section 15.4.4
