Ok. My engine in my 533i just started going wacko on me last night. I can repair most things, but as far as diagnosis goes, I am stumped. Here's what happens. I'll go to start the car. It will run for about a second, and die.

If i give it gas while starting, It will fire up, go to about 2500RPM, and as soon as I let off the gas, it dies. Sometimes it will lope along @ 200-300 RPM, giving a typical clunkity-clunk noise, and die. If I give it gas while it is clunking, I get a light blue, somewhat oily smelling smoke from under the hood and out the exhaust. There is also a bit of oil in my intake tube behind the air filter. I drove it to work today, but under 3000RPMS the motor will give off a bowwwwwww sound like its getting too much gas.

Any ideas, comments, or suggestions would be a HUGE help.

I had that exact problem leaving Napa last year. Being late, I just kept my foot in it and made it home! Ordered a new intake boot the next day!

Call Spark; he'll help you!!

Or the AFM is sticking as well. A little bit of silicone or such squirted in the "swing" point should do the trick.
