Dont they do this in south africa? Apparently car jackings are so common there that people use electrification and flame to keep potential thieves at bay.

Update.. Found the story by deleting part of the URL. http://www.cnn.com/WORLD/africa/9812/11 ... rower.car/

As far as how hard it would be to set this up: probably as involved as installing a flame supression system. Ironic that it provides the opposite function. A bottle of fuel/propellant in the trunk, lines running to nozzles mounted under the car, and some sort of piezo or electronic ignition. Lawsuit waiting to happen stateside, when it goes off next to a crowded sidewalk.

You mean like putting a deadbolt system into a car that would allow you to lock people in so they can't get out? ;)
