So I read off of another forum that you can use E30 suspension parts for the front of an E28 to aquire a nice drop. I do have front E30 shock and lowering springs I just want to know if this is possible and if it would be a direct swap or what would I need to modify to have my car running right. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

The springs would not be the correct rate.

The front strut inserts from most years do fit into the E28 tubes, but they are shorter, so to make use of them you have to make spacers that go into the tubes or you have to shorten your strut housings.

The rear springs are not the same type.

By the time you are done, you are better off acquiring E28 parts.

Do you know what the spring rates are opposed to e28's?

What if I have the e30 tubes would that make it easier? Im just asking because I have all these parts if I can make it work ill put them to use.

The rears I know wont work I've read of people using the e30 parts for the front im iust trying to get some clarification on it all.

E30 front strut housings are completely different. E30s are lighter cars, so the spring rates will be much lower.

Eibach 2003.201 (318i springs) up front. The only reason I have this setup is because I bought it used. I wouldn't recommend it, I'd say go Spax or coilovers. Ireland Engineering makes a partial kit, Ground Control is the tried-and-true choice, and the new BC Racing kit seems to be viewed favorably by those who have bought them.
