I have a quick question regarding running the Bosch Idle Control on MS.
I am running MS2/Extra release 3.1.1 and am assuming the idle control module was installed in the ECU I purchased.
I have it hooked up and the ICV buzzes like I would expect it to. My only question is what should I be setting the Valve frequency to? Here is my current setup:
Here are my closed loop idle settings:
Does this look correct?
Also, will the stock hose that runs from the ICV to the intake manifold take the pressure from boost (around 8psi)?
I will have a few more questions but I have to run into a meeting.
Megasquirt PWM Idle Control
Subscribed - both for settings and the piping concerns.
I have to run cracked throttle plate right now but am plumbed for 3 wire ICV (and actually picked up a 2 wire ICV as well just in case) but haven't got te base settings worked out enough to help- sorry.
That was a long reply that doesn't help your situation at all :-)

Man I gotta update my firmware! Are you sure you're not running 3.3.0? That menu with the closed loop sensitivity slider looks like the latest release code.
Here are my settings from 3.2.5. I am running the valve at 91.5Hz. My menu shows a setting that is multiplied by 30.5, so I entered 3. So far, the car will idle without stalling with a/c on in just about every situation I can put it in. The only issue I have is sometimes the last known good idle dc will be a little high and the car will idle at 1800 for about 30 seconds. I'm sure it's a matter of speeding up the algorithm to find the target rpm a little faster. I was unable to let the valve close after any period of time using closed loop as the last known good dc would be close to 0 and the engine would stall. I have not noticed any ill effects of leaving the valve open.

Re: Megasquirt PWM Idle Control
Any updates for this? I was thinking about using the stock ICV on my M30B34 with a MS2 unit but it isn't clear to me if it will hook up directly or if I need to use something like the Glen's garage board.
Any further developments on this front? I'd like to have a clear idea what I'm hooking up before I even start the physical wiring.
I think I have MS2 v3.0 meaning I need a solution to run idle.

Re: Megasquirt PWM Idle Control
You'll have to modify the fidle output to use 2 high current drivers, plus add a spare output through the db37 for the "close" coil of the idle valve. One driver operates inversely. It would probably be easiest to build the circuit on a bread board and wire back into the MS main board, since the GG idle board isn't available.

Re: Megasquirt PWM Idle Control
You'll want the PWM idle valve setting.
I don't know how the SMD boards are setup.

Thanks Mike,

I guess I may have to buy one of those as well^.With a V3.0 board, you will need to add our PWM idle control mod kit (https://www.diyautotune.com/product/meg ... od-kit-39/) to control this valve. For an MS2, connect this output to the opening coil and connect the closing coil to ground through a 30 ohm 50 watt resistor.

Re: Megasquirt PWM Idle Control
You actually need 2 of those transistors. Do not use the 30ohm 50w resistor to control the close side of the coil, the iac does not like it. Ask how I know. Search for a schematic to build the 3 wire iac driver.
