My Good & Tight mani journey!

This is just some info for folks to know before they put this manifold into the car, and to show off my setup!
Build consists of a M30B34 with custom Ross 9:1 flat top pistons, ARP main and head studs and a cometic .080 MLS head gasket. Everything else internally is stock including valve train and head. (Head is a reman, but all factory) Factory rods have been shot peened, balanced and edges polished. Intake is a custom water-air piece from TCD that was in the classifieds a couple weeks ago. Running a frozen boost heat exchanger up front, along with a chopped down reservoir from them as well. Using the typical bosch cobra/lightning/cts-v water pump, with an 80/20 BMW coolant mix. Turbo is a COMP 61mm with a .68 exhaust housing from TCD. Running a single Aeromotive 340 fuel pump, seimens deka 80lb high impedance injectors and an Ireland pressure regulator (not necessary, but my factory one blew out so why not?) Running a MS DIYPNP ecu on wasted spark and converted to semi-sequential injection. Don't have any dyno numbers yet, due to breaking in the new engine/clutch, but so far it has 200mi on the setup and runs great! Hoping for 450-500whp in the end.
First off, just want to say that the quality of the manifold so far is great (everyone knows this!)
Things to know:
-If you want to keep AC I recommend getting custom lines made away from the shock tower location, as the manifold is seriously feeler gauge distance away from the lines. I emptied my freon just incase the line melted through (they're still on the car) I can't make up my mind whether I want to take it out or if I want custom lines
-you will need to remove the airbox bracket and another small bracket from the fender well
-wastegate is in a tricky location as well, being directly underneath the downpipe, there is physically no room for a dump tube straight down unless you chop out and box in a section of the frame rail (I didn't want to do this) In stock body form I only saw 2 ways for a dump tube:
1: turn the wastegate straight up and recirc directly into the downpipe (it would be a straight 90deg angle into the downpipe, so i opted for option 2, thinking that the angle would disturb flow from the exhaust housing.)
2: (what i did) turn the wastegate toward the fender well, cut a hole and run an open dump tube straight down next to the strut/wheel area (can't beat that open wastegate sound)

It looks like a cramped bay in the pic, and thats because it is! haha it's a damn monster under there haha!

looks great man, saw your post in the other thread, I ran my waste gate into the down pipe, and now I am kind of jealous of your dump tube idea.

Design by TCD (circa 2005), execution by Bell Intercoolers. Glad to see it going to good use. It's an ambitious intercooler. Almost twice as much core as a standard TCD intercooler. It should work really well with a proper cooling system.

hopefully it works like i want! so far havent boosted it too hard.... but short sprints on 10psi, iat's haven't risen over 115 in 85deg ambient temps with an 80/20 coolant mix (haven't put any ice in yet)..... so seems ok so far... just have to wait until the boost is cranked up!

Keep checking for air in the system. 115F in 85F ambient is outstanding. Wait until fall/winter!

i like it but...i'd be concerned with the tire that close to the heat.

I think it'll be fine, its not like the wastegate is even open for super long periods. Also, while driving there is enough open air flow to protect the tire.......... We shall see though, it'll only take one blown tire to switch over to recirculating it
edit: 350mi and counting on her..... almost ready for a good 10psi tune to finish off the break-in...... did I mention that this is my only car and it goes out every single day?.... well it does!!

Looks amazing. I'm really digging the intercooler design. Super sweet. Looking forward to some dyno numbers. There still may be hope for me.

Just giving an update on whats happening..... Car is running great, BUT I have a major boost creep issue that cannot be resolved. I will be attempting to move the wastegate out to the front of the manifold to see if this helps, but if not I will be adding a second wastegate..... I am totally unsure as to what else to do at this point.
If anyone has any suggestions shoot them at me and I can give it a try. Currently the wastegate has a 7psi spring in it (which it can hold perfectly at low rpm), but once the RPM climb I can only make it to around 5500 before I hit my 220kpa boost cut

I know some would naysay it but wastegate exit geometry has always been critical for me. On my current build the wastegate dumps directly in line with the exhaust flow. Upon initial tuning I had a 3# spring in the gate and the engine would run to 6800 RPM at exactly 3PSI of boost. However some engines with a 90 degree outlet seem to perform as though the wastegate is just there for looks.

This is exactly my thought process. I am going to move the wastegate to the front of the manifold (to hopefully be more in the direct path of exhaust) next week hopefully. My only concern is that Good&Tight claims to have tuned other vehicles with this manifold that have no creep issues (even though I have let a few tuners look at the manifold and all of them said wastegate placement is wrong)
There's only one way to find out and that's to move it.
Wastegate is an MVR 44, so flow really shouldn't be a problem at all for this thing, unless it's just way out of placement.
I was hoping someone on here would've run the manifold before myself, to find this out beforehand.....

Remove the wastegate and go for a pull, see if it still creeps.

well turns out, this is totally a seperate issue, but I can't run my car anymore at the moment as I have found the turbo to already have some movement causing the compressor blades to rub the inlet of the housing
........ Off it comes

Update again! Working on getting the comp turbo warrantied, but in the meantime I went ahead and ordered a Precision 6266 .81 to give a go this time
...... also quit trying to diagnose my boost creep issue and ordered a second MVR 44..... already added the second flange onto the manifold
Hope to have her alive again this weekend and hopefully hit the dyno finally next weekend!

Since you're running MS, have you verified timing with a light?
Too much ignition retard will contribute heavily to boost creep... Antilag basically works on the same principle. Move the combustion event closer to exhaust valve opening event and the force on the turbine wheel grows exponentially.
Disclaimer: not advising to go add 5* timing across the board
Post up your timing map though if you can, so others can compare to their own...

The creep issue is solved..... timing was verified with a light to be perfect..... ended up saying screw it and added a second wastegate to stop the creep
Still havent made it onto a dyno yet, been having other issues. I blew a headgasket a little while ago (Sore subject 100% my fault). Needs a new block, which I am working on at the moment. Waiting to get one new piston from Ross.
