Sent my injectors out to be tested and ultrasonically cleaned... have three of them dead (sat up for several years, so I'm guessing the pintles are stuck)

What should I replace them with?

the build I'm going with so far is:

rebuilt b35 (stock pistons, rods, crank, cam, and valves)
the block is from a late e24 so it has the correct mounting bosses

TCD non-intercooled kit


the working plan is to get it all up and running on the b35 stock motronic 1.3 then Megasquirt a few months later.

What size injectors should I go with for replacements? I'm thinking a whole new set is in order considering three are dead. (completely, non-recoverable) and I don't want to take any chances on fuel supply issues.

I can't seem to find it written anywhere now, but it seems like I need a 533 passenger side motor bracket so it all clears the turbo, is that right?

I believe you run 36lb injectors with the S1 kit on Moronic. With MS, he recommends 60lb units.

A 533/633 passenger side mount is what you need to clear the turbo.

I have a set of red top injectors. I can't remember what they are right now.

i think the red tops are 30lb

if I'm going to have to replace them with 60lb units when I go megasquirt, it may be a better idea to just go ahead and do the megasquirt now

I'm going to get it up and running on the moronic 1.3 first. I don't need to add even more problems to the mix right now

30lbers for Motronic
42lbers for most MS applications
60lbers for big boost

Get the plastic body ones I have 80lb injectors vs the old metal green top 42s they idle better, lower dead time.

If it helps at all. My b34 is running a larger t04e turbo on MS with 42lb mustang injectors.

Idles great, runs about 85% idc @ 19psi of boost. 43psi fuel pressure.
