Hey guys,
So, as some of you know, I have obtained a 1983 528e.
I have a "special" plan for this junker, namely forced induction.
I'm open to engine swaps for forced induction, but if you guys think that turboing the.... what is it, the m20b27??? is a perfectly fine thing to do so, feel free to tell me so..
Also, I SERIOUSLY want to learn all i can about FI, so if you guys could guide me to where i could read up on all there is to know, i would LOVE to hear from y'all!
with utmost transparency,
The Kid

FI is not a good route if you want to be spoon fed, unfortunately. Do some research and you can get your answers. This has been discussed on here before, and there is something called Google that will allow you to find an answer to any question you might have. Good luck.

Do yourself a favor and just swap a v8 na motor in. I don't know what s the best fit, but after years of tuning and popping headgaskets, I wish I'd have gone that route.
good luck

This book is a good place to start. Some of the parts and pieces recommended may not be available today, but the principles are applicable. Corky Bell was one of the inovators and developers of aftermarket turbocharging systems.

Search user turbodan. I think he boosted an eta motor to outrageous levels and lived to tell about it.
And Corky Bell's book is the shits. A must read.
cheers

Interesting you said that because minutes after posting this thread, I began a pm to turbodan starting off
"oh wise sensei,
teach me your knowledge on positive pressure.
I have an 83 528e with the "dreaded" m20, I REALLY want to turbo it, what should I be looking to do to prep it for a snail??
with utmost respect,
The Kid"
AND THE LEGEND REPLIED.... super-genius of a man..
and I'll have to seriously consider buying that book..
Thank you all for the
positive (
) feedback,
The Kid
