As you know, we’ve been devastated by Covid the past year and our beloved “fests” in the West have been cancelled. As of today June 1st, Nevada has fully reopened and that means we are free to have gatherings again!!!

We are preparing for The Biggest Little 5er Fest in Reno! This will be a very informal gathering along the lines of St. Paddy’s Day and 5er West. The main "Show and Shine" event will occur on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Lazy 5 Regional Park in Sparks, NV.

If there is enough demand, I will try to get a hotel to reserve some rooms. If you don’t mind roommates, there are Airbnb rentals for reasonable prices in the Washoe Valley…I can offer advice on the best areas to rent a home.

The featured chassis are the classic 5 series cars from 1972 to 2002, but all BMWs are welcome (including E23s…ahem). There may even be an old Tundra there!!!

So get out your pent up frustrations and meet with your BMW friends again! There will be an announcement very soon to register on Motorsportreg so we can get an accurate head count.

If you cannot attend but still want to order T-shirts, you have that option via the motorsportreg.com website. Bypass the registration fee (Saturday Show and Shine) for the event. T-shirts are available in medium olive ("military") green or charcoal gray.

I'll be there regardless, but I'd like to make an argument for E39s. When 5er Fest started in '02, the newest E28s were 14 years old. Currently the newest E39s are 18 years old.

In other words we'll be there in the wife's car, the E39 touring, emasculated version. While something interesting for me is on the agenda, I doubt I'll have it by then. If you want me to just STFU, I understand, and I'll be there anyway.

i'm sure @danielpouch and i will be in attendance (well, if his e28 is running again, by that point).

Looks like there are fairly serious rules about alcohol and music (NONE), we will have to mind our Ps and Qs.

Really? In Nevada? The state with 24/7 alcohol sales and few restrictions on walking around with an open drink?

Music is a deinite NO, but alcohol requires a special permit.
